  1. How Science is Actually on the Side of the Bible w/ Nancy Pearcey | Ep. 17

How Science is Actually on the Side of the Bible w/ Nancy Pearcey | Ep. 17

What if the most controversial issues of our day, like homosexuality and transgenderism, actually reveal that science is on the side of the Bible? In this episode of Walking with the Wise, Nate and I sit down with Nancy Pearcey, a world-renowned author, professor, and speaker, to tackle some of the toughest topics in our culture today. Nancy's journey is incredible; she went from being a skeptical agnostic searching for meaning in philosophy to studying under Francis Schaeffer at L’Abri and becoming one of the leading Christian intellectuals of our time. One of the things that really blew my mind was Nancy’s explanation of the "body-personhood" divide. It’s a theory that explains how our secular culture has split the concept of truth into "facts" (science) and "values" (personal feelings). Nancy shows us how this split leads to a negative view of the physical body and how we, as Christians, can actually be the "pro-science" ones by honoring the way God designed our biology. What You’ll Learn: Nancy Piercy's Journey from Agnosticism to Christianity Exploring Relativism and Determinism The Body-Person Dualism and Its Cultural Impact Historical Context of the Body-Person Divide Loving and Supporting Same-Sex Attracted Friends Engaging with Non-Christians on Homosexuality The Christian View of the Body and Science Navigating Conversations on Transgender Issue Understanding Identity and Body Image The Role of Christianity in Body Positivity Personal Stories and Parental Support Engaging in Conversations about Sexuality The Importance of a Christian Worldview Addressing Broader Cultural Issues ▶️Learn more about Guest: https://www.nancypearcey.com/ ▶️Learn more about Walking with the Wise here: Linktr.ee/walkingwiththewise #WalkingWithTheWise #NancyPearcey #Apologetics #ChristianWorldview #LoveThyBody

How to talk WITH God, not TO God w/ IMBeggar | Ep. 16

Ever feel like you’re just reading a list to God, instead of actually hanging out and having a real conversation with Him? In this conversation of Walking with the Wise, Sam and I sit down with Randy Schwab, the creative mind behind the YouTube channel IM Beggar. Randy has this unique way of turning big spiritual ideas into simple, visual, heart-level moments — usually through animation — and hearing the story behind that gift honestly surprised me. Randy opens up about his past as a successful animator in California, living the party life and chasing career highs. He even hit the dream: Disney wanted to buy his show. But even at the top, he felt completely empty. What changed everything was watching his parents quietly cling to their faith while his mom battled cancer. That steady, unshakeable trust in God is what pulled Randy out of skepticism and into a real relationship with Jesus. We dive deep into how he moved from “head knowledge” faith to something that actually transformed his heart. We talk about prayer, slowing down enough to hear God, and learning how to stop performing and just be honest. If you’re tired, distracted, or feeling distant from God… this episode will help you breathe, reset your heart, and actually meet with Him again. 3. The Body Teaches the Soul w/ Justin Whitmel Earley | Ep. 14

The Body Teaches the Soul w/ Justin Whitmel Earley | Ep. 14

What if the habits we do every day are shaping our souls more than we realize? In this episode of Walking with the Wise, Sam and I sit down with Justin Whitmel Earley — a lawyer, author, and speaker — to talk about the powerful connection between our physical habits and our spiritual life. His new book, The Body Teaches the Soul, digs deep into how our bodies aren’t just along for the ride — they’re a big part of how God forms us. Justin’s story really stuck with me. He went from being a missionary in China to a lawyer chasing success and eventually hit burnout. But instead of giving up, he started small: habits like scripture before phone, box breathing, fasting and feasting, and learning to lament. Over time, those practices completely reshaped his mind, body, and relationship with God. What You’ll Learn: - How habits shape your spiritual life - Simple anchor habits to start today - The power of breathing + prayer for peace - Why feasting and fasting both matter - How to find shalom in your body and mind - Building faith through community My favorite part of this conversation? Justin’s reminder that habits won’t change God’s love for us but God’s love for us should change our habits. This episode will help you slow down, pay attention to your rhythms, and see how even the simplest daily choices can become ways to love God and others better. ▶️Learn more about Justin Whitmel Earley here: https://www.justinwhitmelearley.com/ ▶️Learn more about Walking with the Wise here: Linktr.ee/walkingwiththewise #WalkingWithTheWise #JustinWhitmelEarley #SpiritualHabits #ChristianPodcast #FaithAndMentalHealth

How to Share with Gospel w/ Allen Bonnell | Ep. 13

What if sharing my faith didn’t have to feel awkward or forced? In this episode, Sam and I sit down with Pastor Allen Bonnell to talk about what everyday evangelism really looks like — not just from the pulpit, but in our daily lives. Pastor Allen opens up about his powerful journey from a difficult childhood to becoming a lead pastor, and how God used his story to reach others. We dive into what it truly means to walk in humility, take ownership rather than just membership in the church, and why young people play such an important role in building strong communities of faith. Pastor Allen also shares simple and practical ways to start faith conversations naturally, why evangelism is often caught, not taught, and how prayer and relationships make all the difference. This episode reminded me that evangelism isn’t about pressure or perfection — it’s about love, service, and showing others the hope we’ve found in Christ. What You’ll Learn: - Why humility matters in leadership and daily life - How evangelism can feel natural, not intimidating - The difference between being a church member and a church owner - How college students can use their time wisely to serve and grow spiritually - Why prayer is the foundation of sharing your faith - How to build relationships that open doors for gospel conversations - Ways to overcome fear when talking about your faith - The power of sharing your personal story and testimony - How to be more welcoming and outward-focused at church - Why the next generation has a vital role in the future of the church ▶️Learn more about Allen Bonnell: https://weareibc.com/team/ ▶️Learn more about Walking with the Wise here: Linktr.ee/walkingwiththewise #WalkingWithTheWise #ChristianPodcast #Evangelism #FaithInAction #PastorAllenBonnell
