I recently discovered the podcast world and stumbled across this one. Listened to chapter 1 and I’m addicted now! To be honest, this is the next level, the audio production, narrations, sound effects to voice actors! It lets you go away for a while as you listen. A great audio drama that really brings the story to life. Recommend this podcast to anyone who enjoys listening to weirder tales of the old west. All the best, Cody! Two thumbs (and five stars) up!
When crafting a narrative the single most important thing is to create a world that the individual consuming the story can get lost in. Doing this in the most common format of movies and TV can be a daunting task, but doing it with audio alone takes a real mastery of storytelling.
Wandering with the Dead succeeds on so many fronts it's honestly amazing. The ambient sounds used here do an incredible job of allowing you to feel like you're there, riding along with these well crafted and deep characters. The voice acting is top notch, each voice distinct enough to know who is who immediately, without becoming a caricature of a real person. The descriptions given are precise, without overstaying their welcome and do a fantastic job of truly painting a detailed picture in the listener's mind's eye.
Wandering with the Dead is simply top notch from top to bottom and I cannot wait to hear where this story goes.
Great great great podcast and I’m SO excited for more and more. If you haven’t listened already, definitely go for it! You will not regret it 👍🏼
