Today I have three exceptional guests who are going to help you:
    - Understand the power of working with other people
    - Overcome restrictions and limitations placed upon you and help you
    - Figure out why it’s necessary to shake things up to achieve growth

    Let’s get into it.

I’m very excited to bring you my guest today. Author and scholar Dr Ibram X Kendi who is the great mind behind the #1 New York Times bestseller ‘How to be an anti-racist’. Dr Kendi is one of America’s foremost historians and leading antiracist scholars. He is also a contributing writer at The Atlantic and a Racial Justice Contributor at CBS News.
The focus of today’s episode is to help you realise the importance of following your instincts when it comes to your career. But also to explore the area’s of your life that need further interrogation and reflection. We also talk about Dr Kendi’s latest book ‘400 Souls’ which is a must-read for anyone interested in the movement for black lives and history!

We’ll return to Dr Kendi in a moment. I want you to get to know Leyya Sattar who has been in the trenches trying to create an equitable world for BIPOC folx in the UK and around the world. Here’s Leyya.

I’ve been following Leyya and The Other Box for years and it’s been amazing to see their growth and more importantly the impact they’re making as an organisation. It’s truly remarkable. Be sure to follow The Other Box on Twitter and Instagram @_TheOtherBox. Now Back to Dr Kendi.

I am feeling very blessed to have spoken to Dr Kendi! I highly recommend getting a copy of 400 Souls which is a very rich tapestry of black history from 1619-2019. It’s full of suspense, trauma, joy, anger, and triumph. It’s well worth the read. You can follow Dr Kendi on Twitter @DrIbram and Instagram @IbramxK

Before we wrap up, I had the chance to speak with London Mayor Sadiq Khan a little while back and given the themes explored this season I thought it’s worth revisiting what he had to say about the pros and cons of being London Mayor.

That’s a wrap, thank you so much for listening. I hope this half an hour has made you think, reflect and contemplate what your next step should be.
I’d like to encourage you to think about one person who would benefit from the messages shared today and I’d love for you to share this episode with them, right now! If you’d like the extended interview with Dr Kendi, all you have to do is screenshot and share this episode to your Instagram stories and tag @contentisqueenhq.

#118 Estelle, Kym Oliver and Yrsa Daley-Ward on Owning Your Talent

#118 Estelle, Kym Oliver and Yrsa Daley-Ward on Owning Your Talent

Welcome back to Wanna Be- the podcast takes you from where you are now to where you wanna be in 30 minutes or less.

I’m Imriel Morgan, Founder of Content is Queen, a podcast agency and club for ambitious podcasters with phenomenal taste, high expectations and a desire to sound as good as I do now.

Thank you so much for taking the time to be here! Wanna Be’s focus is to help you take consistent action to build a successful life and career in the creative and entertainment industry.

Coming up are three phenomenal guests who are about to help you:
Find out how stop repelling the things you want
Learn how to take your influences and create something unique and distinct.
Discover why nobody can be left behind in the quest to build a just world

    Let’s get into it!

Today I’m super excited to bring you Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Estelle.
You probably know Estelle already but I’m going to introduce her anyway. Estelle is one of the leading voices in Black British RnB. She became infamously known for her chart-topping song American Boy featuring Kanye West. But she’s been knocking out huge hits including 1980, Come Over and Free to name a few. She’s also the voice of Garnet in the multi-award-winning Cartoon Network Steven Universe.

The focus of this interview is to help you explore all of your talents and interests. The difference between apprehension and being scared. And how to use different influences to create unique and distinct work.

Do you know how hard it was for me to stay cool! Estelle is iconic to me so to sit down and talk to her about her music that was literally the soundtrack of my teenage years is so wild! She is EVERYTHING! YOu can catch Estelle on Twitter and Instagram @EstelleDarlings She also hosts The Estelle Show on Apple Music so check it out.

We’ll return to Estelle in just a minute. I have got to interrupt this message to introduce you to the baddest baby girl in the game. This is someone I regularly look up to and I’m constantly inspired by and in awe of. Listen to every word she has to say….

If you do NOTHING else today, I encourage you to follow The Triple Cripples on Twitter and Instagram @TripleCripples. They are literally doing the work and your support is necessary. Now back to Estelle...

Before we wrap up I’ve brought back Yrsa Daley Ward the author of 'bone' and 'the terrible'. Yrsa’s advice is food for thought, especially right now.

Thanks Yrsa! That’s a wrap, thank you so much for listening to the end. I hope this half an hour has been a calming and joyful part of your day.

I’d like to encourage you to think about one person who needs a little joy and calm and share this episode with them right now! If you want extended interviews, screenshot and share this episode to your Instagram stories and tag @contentisqueenhq.

Inspiring Podcast

I really enjoy listening to this podcast. It’s very casual and I like how the host shares her own personal stories. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the advertisement is so annoying, it’s insane. I skip over it, but even listening to it for .014567 seconds makes me want to scratch my eyeballs out.

Excellent and Intriguing Podcast

I just started listening to this podcast and I’ve enjoyed the different conversations that I haven’t been able to have anywhere else. However, now that I’ve discovered this podcast I’m excited to continue listening as well as see where this podcast will grow.

@ACWalker620 ,

Better editing needed...

The transitions between the commercials and the conversations are choppy. It’s hard to hear the end of one segment and the beginning of another. A few more minutes in post-production editing will fix that.
