Hilarious, crisply-edited, fast-paced romp into the creepy-strange world of pre-iphone cartoons. Highly recommend this podcast! The only thing wrong with days of the week is that many of them are not Monday, aka Watchbots Day!!! The hosts are brilliant and funny and the soundbytes are epic. It is a little-known fact that the host, Ben, was the original founder of Bhagwan Shree and worked as a full-time writer for a hit NPR comedy podcast. I won't name any names, but let me just say, ~Late, Late, Don't Smell Me~, guys. His leadership skills really shine as he guides vocal artisan and impression genius, Dave and the absolute shining sassy clever heart of the show, Shaylin along in their witty banter. No time is wasted getting to the contextual heart of these freaky deeky cartoons, and the hosts do it gracefully without leaving their adoring audience out of the fun (even if we are, as my husband calls me, culture dilettantes--look at me now, SEAN, writing a WHOLE itunes review!). Btw it's me, Laurie; I'm not hiding behind anonymous feedback like some dubya dubya world wide web ninny. This superfan is just counting down the episodes until Ben runs away with Dave so that Shaylin can finally be mine, mwahahaha. Mwahahaha. Haha. Mwahahahaha. Watchbooooots! Dun! Dun! Dun-dunnn!

Just got through 1 1/2 episodes and they were horrible. I barely got past the episode of Conan and all these three goofs kept talking about was how offended they were. They criticized an AFRICAN CHARACTER for having a AFRICAN ACCENT! Claiming it was racist.....!?! Nevermind, that the African warrior was smarter, wiser and helped Conan become a better ma throughout the episode. Heaven forbid an African character have an African accent. Then the three feign disgust in how violent the show is and how the animation leaves little to the imagination. I cannot wait until they have convulsions and keel over with a violent cardiac arrest while watching the 90's X-Men: The Animated Series or Batman: The Animated Series. They're offended that a cartoon uses whips and says the word "slaves". Even Conan constantly saying, "Crom" because it is a religious figure akin to "Jesus" is somehow wierd or disturbing. They go on and on about mysogynistic the show is because they had a male medusa that is traditionally female....so therefore mysogynism. Nevermind, that they have a female co-star who is far more competent, smarter, faster, and cunning then all the men in the show, even the titular character. I figured this was just an off recording and I started another random episode only for the intro to immediately start up again about how terribly evil a cartoon is....then I shut it off. Listen, I understand the need to make sure your audience knows you are "woke" and progressive and all inclusive or whatever it is but please stop patting yourselves on the back every other minute about how you are not evil, mean, close-minded, racist, sexist, and whatever it is you are scared to death of being labeled as. It's embarrassing. Concentrate more about making a quality show that properly covers the subject at hand.
