    The Majesty of 'Shang-Chi'

    The Majesty of 'Shang-Chi'

    Mind. Blown.

Jake + Mitch break down Marvel's latest cinematic installment, 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings'. Actually, it's more like basking in its majestic awesomeness. Either way, when the movie's this big and this good there's a lot to cover.

Along the way the guys ask the big questions:

    - Is 'Shang-Chi' a Top 5 MCU title?
    - What's the subversive secret to the storytelling?
    - Did Wenwu win the movie?

As an origin story, 'Shang-Chi' brings the heat. As a commentary on damaged family, it hits all the right notes. Cheers to Marvel for capturing our loyalty once again!

'Spider-Man: No Way Home' - Trailer Reactions

'Spider-Man: No Way Home' - Trailer Reactions

Spider-Man is back . . . and so is everybody else.

Jake + Mitch break down the new trailer for 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'. Because when everyone's favorite neighborhood Spider-Man shows back up, stuff gets real.

    Along the way they ask:

    - Will this installment help carry MCU Phase 4?

    - What if Molina, Dafoe, and Tobey all come back?

    - Why can't Tom Holland get some character agency?

Ultimately, the guys agree that Marvel has earned the benefit of the doubt. But if we're taking the trailer in a vacuum, there's just as much to be excited for as there are unanswered questions.

    Kicking Off, 'What If... ?'

    Kicking Off, 'What If... ?'

What if. . . we told you that Marvel may have found a new way forward?

Jake + Mitch recap the first episode and future landscape for Marvel's latest television venture, 'What If... ?'. Much to their surprise, it appears as though the MCU has stumbled upon a new-to-them, vibrant form of storytelling.

One episode deep and there's already much to discuss:
Does Captain Carter deserve her own animated movie?
Are there Shuma Gorath multiverse implications?
Could this be Marvel's purest comic-to-screen installment?
Although it may be too early to tell if the rest of the season will hold water, one thing is certain – Captain Carter is fantastic. We're all-in for 'What If... ?' going forward.

'The Suicide Squad' - Good, Bad, or Meh? w/ Ashley McKinney

'The Suicide Squad' - Good, Bad, or Meh? w/ Ashley McKinney

Welp, James Gunn has embraced his full James Gunn-ness and it's a lot.

Jake + Mitch are joined by friend of the pod, Ashley McKinney, to dish on the latest DCEU installment, 'The Suicide Squad'. More importantly, Ashley accepts her new title as Resident Harley Quinn Expert.

Along the way, they hit a few key talking points:

    - Is Margot Robbie single-handedly holding the DCEU together?

    - How do you define a movie that's good but not great?

    - James Gunn - Brilliant or Derivative Director?

Naturally, spoilers abound in this unapologetically unvarnished discussion. Because how do you dish on everyone's favorite colorful mercenaries and keep it "clean"? Either way, 'The Suicide Squad' is better than it had any right to be.

Impossible Questions - Does Comic Book Entertainment Have a Peak?

Impossible Questions - Does Comic Book Entertainment Have a Peak?

Watching Comics is back with everyone's favorite segment...

    IMPOSSIBLE QUESTIONS

Attempting to answer daunting questions; or at least re-visiting something we may have underestimated. Quick takes, sharp focus, and endless Twitter-blasting potential.

Co-Host Jake riffs on the ultimate quandary facing comics and cinema:

Is there a peak for Comic Book Entertainment?

In a few quick minutes, Jakes shuts-down the, "comic flicks aren't really cinema" publicity stunt. He also unpacks the Spaghetti Westerns comparison, concern for Hollywood losing mid-level gems, and looks forward to more visionary IP-inspired titles.

Is it the take to end all takes? Probably not. But there’s a lot more nuance at play than we typically acknowledge.
