We Are Fine

Whether you’re a Gen Z screenager, a morbid Millennial, or an emotionally unavailable Gen X-er, there’s one thing we can all agree on… we are NOT prepared for this life thing. And, it’s starting to look like nobody’s coming to the rescue. As an educator trauma bonded to social media and lifelong human, Lauran Woolley (@mrs.woolleyin5th) has learned one essential truth above all else – history repeats itself. Each week, join Lauran and Jordan Woolley as they are thrown into the deep end of some truly heinous games all in the pursuit of self-improvement for the future. From reenacting pivotal moments in history (see: surviving the Civil War as a circus clown) to solving a SAW-style escape room through crafting the perfect text for cancelling dinner plans - their pain is your gain. As we journey together towards preparedness, should at any point you start to feel nervous about mastering these critical life skills, just keep repeating this mantra: WE ARE FINE!

Goodbye Season 1....Season 2 Is Coming Soon!

What started as an experiment somehow became a time capsule—of squirrels, tangents, and a lot of laughs. In this Season 1 finale, we reflect on our favorite moments, how Jordan went from podcast novice to certified co-host, and what it’s like podcasting while five months pregnant. There’s a lot of love, a lot of nostalgia, and yes—one final showdown over household temperatures. Plus, why this podcast might become the most chaotic baby diary of all time. Take our survey! Takeaways: “From Terrified to Tangent King” – Jordan opens up about how he really felt starting the podcast—and what finally helped him feel at home in front of the mic. “The Squirrel Metaphor Is Real” – What does ADHD sound like in podcast form? According to Lauran… a “terror of squirrels.” “From Podcast to Parenting Time Capsule” – The duo imagines their unborn child one day listening back to these episodes. What lessons (and cautionary tales) will they uncover? “Survey Says…” – The audience has power! Lauran and Jordan invite fans to help shape Season 2 with a listener survey—plus, settle the household thermostat war once and for all. “This Was Never Just a Show” – Lauran and Jordan reflect on how the podcast has become more than content—it’s become a place to share life, love, and chaos with a growing community. -- Watch on YouTube: @mrs.woolleyin5th Listen Anywhere You Podcast: Apple, Spotify, PodChaser, etc. For questions, thoughts, symptoms, and stories, you may contact us at: wearefinepod.com — Produced by Human Content

How We Bribed Our Way Into California History | Past To The Future

In Episode 20 we are joined by the hilarious by Educator Andrea for a wild rewrite of 1850 Los Angeles history. As Pio Pico and Arcadia Bandini, they’ll bribe senators, blackmail rivals, and maybe—just maybe—accidentally start a war. It’s land barons, chaos, and corruption... with a side of fries. And if you think they’re the good guys? Think again. Takeaways: “From Fast Food to Land Fraud” – It all starts with fries in a rental car and ends with controlling the birth of Los Angeles. How did we get here? “Pio Pico and Arcadia Bandini Become the Villains (and They Love It)” – These two quickly go from worried landowners to manipulative power players. Let’s just say the word “bribery” comes up… a lot. “We May Have Started a Fake Rebellion… Oops” – Desperate to keep their land, the duo orchestrates a chaotic uprising that gets very out of hand. “One Rogue Ranchero. One Real Attack. One Huge Problem.” – It was all going according to plan… until Gus decided to go full chaos mode. “A Forged Letter, A Framed Rival, and an Untouchable Empire” – When all else fails, just blame someone else and fake the receipts. That’s what heroes do… right? -- Want more Andrea Forcum? @EducatorAndrea on all socials Those Who Can't Do Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/those-who-cant-do/id1738684851 Watch on YouTube: @mrs.woolleyin5th Listen Anywhere You Podcast: Apple, Spotify, PodChaser, etc. For questions, thoughts, symptoms, and stories, you may contact us at: wearefinepod.com — Produced by Human Content

Past To The Future: Nevada Legalizes Gambling (1931) with Gaspare Randazzo

In Episode 17 we welcome stand-up comedian and teacher Gaspare Randazzo for a hilarious, chaotic, and slightly dangerous episode. Gaspare shares his experience balancing a teaching career with performing comedy nationwide, as well as his family’s real-life history with the mafia. Then, we all play Past to the Future, rewriting history in 1931 Nevada, where Jordan plays Hollywood icon Clara Bow and somehow gets into a high-stakes poker match against a mob boss. Takeaways: Teaching & Stand-Up Comedy are More Similar Than You Think – Gaspare shares how crowd work in comedy and engaging students in a classroom require the same skills. Rewriting Gambling History Was a Wild Ride – The crew plays Past to the Future, setting their adventure in 1931 Nevada, right as gambling is legalized. Jordan (As Clara Bow) Almost Got Whacked – Clara humiliated a mob boss at the poker table, and things nearly turned deadly. Gaspare’s Family Had REAL Mafia Run-Ins – His grandfather refused to pay protection money to the mob, leading to fistfights outside a Brooklyn candy store. We Accidentally Made Reno More Important Than Vegas – In this version of history, Clara Bow’s influence created a celebrity-driven casino boom, shifting the gambling world away from mob control. -- Want more Gaspare Randazzo? @StandUpRandazzo Watch on YouTube: @mrs.woolleyin5th Listen Anywhere You Podcast: Apple, Spotify, PodChaser, etc. For questions, thoughts, symptoms, and stories, you may contact us at: wearefinepod.com — Produced by Human Content

Escape Womb: Getting Our Security Deposit Back

In Episode 15 we unveil a brand new podcast format that blends personal chaos with a historical twist. We introduce Past to the Future, a game where we rewrite real historical events—with unhinged results. This week, we take on Voyager 1’s 1979 flyby of Jupiter, but things go off the rails when Jordan plays the role of a sentient space probe and decides to dive straight into Io’s volcanoes. In Episode 16 we share the other new game we talked about last week. It may be our most ridiculous challenge yet—Escape Womb, an adulting-themed escape room game that proves none of us really know how to be adults. Our mission? Get our security deposit back from the evil Landlord Specter. Takeaways: Adulting is a Scam – Lauran and Jordan learn just how hard it is to get a security deposit back when landlords find every excuse possible to keep your money. The Landlord Specter is Out for Blood – A ghostly landlord, a floating checklist, and mysterious fees turn this apartment into an adulting horror story. A Smoke Detector with Trust Issues – Lauran convinces a paranoid smoke detector that she’s not working for the landlord (after watching a VHS tape full of dirty secrets). A Gremlin is Charging Late Fees? – Jordan and Lauran must outwit a tiny gremlin in a landlord suit before he adds more fees to their bill. Ghostbusting Saves the Day – Lauran digs up her old Ghostbusters Halloween costume and takes down the landlord ghost in one epic final showdown. -- Watch on YouTube: @mrs.woolleyin5th Listen Anywhere You Podcast: Apple, Spotify, PodChaser, etc. For questions, thoughts, symptoms, and stories, you may contact us at: wearefinepod.com — Produced by Human Content
