We Extra is an honest, inspiring, and sometimes-funny podcast from the Dormineys. The Dormineys are a family of five made up of Jerrod, Abby, and three miracle children who were all born with special medical needs. Throughout the We Extra podcasts, we will share the story of our journey, lessons we've learned, and invite you to be a part of a community of people who understand that life is hard. We extra. And so are you. And that’s a pretty cool thing.

Thankfulness (Part 1)
In this episode, we talk about the importance of thankfulness in all seasons of life. In seasons of "extraness," it is so easy to succumb to grumpiness and bitterness. However, the most simple and effective way to cure this is to simply remind yourself of the things you have to be grateful for. We hope this conversation helps you reflect on the things you have to be grateful for.
Unimaginable Loss (Part 2) - The Robisons' Story
In this episode, we continue our conversation with Tara and Joe about the loss of their daughter, Katie, to sids at 4 months old. We talk through the process of grief and healing and how God is faithful to use even our worst case scenarios for our good and His glory. Thank You, Tara and Joe, for being so transparent about your journey.
Unimaginable Loss (Part 1) - The Robisons' Story
In this episode, we sit down to talk with Tara and Joe Robison to hear their story of loss, grief and the process of healing. Tara and Joe lost their second daughter when she was just four months old to SIDS. As you might imagine, this sent them into a deep, dark space. But since then, God has worked mightily as they have walked through the process of grief and healing. We know their story will be a huge blessing to you.
Negative Self Talk
In this episode, we discuss how we are often our own worst enemies. The battles we face are often times determined by what we think about ourselves or our circumstances. It's time we stop giving a voice to the lies of the enemy and start believing what God says about us and our circumstances.
Fake It Till You Make It!!!
In this episode, find out how lessons learned from an ex meth addict can help you get through the difficulties of your life. We award a new gold star award and Abby debut's a new Gold Star song. Come Join along this journey we're on and find out we don't have a clue!
Why do Bad Things Happen
In this podcast, we sit down with our good friend and Pastor, Brandon Dasinger to talk about why bad things happen in life. What we believe about God will either help us find peace in the midst of our suffering or will lead us to an even darker place. We hope this conversation helps you in your journey through your "extra-ness."

Love listening to these two during my workday. This podcast is funny, heartfelt, and so helpful when you are going through trials or not. Abby and Jerrod have a way of discussing the hard moments and bringing it all back to God’s glory! Love this and you guys!!
Love these two and this podcast!
While listening to this podcast, I have laughed a lot, cried a little, but mostly been extremely encouraged! Abby and Jerrod have an incredible story and they have created this podcast to now reach so many others. Through their own personal testimonies, they are real, honest & vulnerable! Anyone will be able to relate to this podcast no matter what you’re facing right now. I am so proud of them and honored to call them my close friends! Thank you for sharing your lives with us! You have no idea the impact you are making ❤️
I feel guilty!
I’ve listen since nearly the beginning and have heard you ask for us all to leave reviews, especially if we’re liking it. Well, I’m loving the podcast but didn’t think I could express it eloquently enough to write a good enough review...so how many weeks later and I’m just giving in and doing it! The last two weeks, I had to press pause until I was ready to let the flood gates open, I can’t begin to imagine the grief and struggle Tara and Joe went through losing their baby girl. Your Podcast makes me want to be a better parent, makes me realize I don’t have to have it all together and inspires me to pray with my kiddos more everyday! Keep doing what you are doing and I’m sorry for my very late review. 😁
