Ep. 6.8: Self-Aware Motherhood feat. Bree’ Smith

It's easy to get caught up in the routine of motherhood but how often do you take a step back and evaluate what's really going on? Why is your child really crying? Are you taking a moment for yourself to recalibrate? On this week's episode, I talk with Bree' Smith who is the founder of The Self Zone and all about mental health. We have a fun conversation about brain leaps, not yelling when your kid spills Cheerios, and more.

Ep. 6.7: Education Outside of School

Ep. 6.7: Education Outside of School

Smart and dumb are usually terms tossed around while you're in school. If you make good grades, you're smart. If you make bad grades, you're dumb. But is that really the case though? On this week's episode, I talk about education and how it is not always about the letter grade.

Ep. 6.5: Birth Order Part I: Does it Matter?

Ep. 6.5: Birth Order Part I: Does it Matter?

I'm willing to bet that it's pretty natural for us to adhere to birth order theory which says that the order in which we are born affects our personality. But does it really though? On this solo episode, I put on my research hat and find out if birth order really does matter.

Ep. 6.4: Make Everyday Count feat. Nellie Harden

Ep. 6.4: Make Everyday Count feat. Nellie Harden

Did you know that once your child is born, there are 6,570 days until they turn 18? That may seem like a lot of time but remember that each day, that number gets lower and lower. Pretty soon you make it through year 1, then year 5, then 10 then boom! Your child turns 18. Time goes slow and fast at the same time. On this week's episode, I talk with Nellie Harden who is a family life and leadership coach all about how she helps families make each day count and how she helps families be, well, families.

Ep. 6.3: The "Core" of Motherhood feat. Tonie Lough of Mom Home Fitness

Ep. 6.3: The "Core" of Motherhood feat. Tonie Lough of Mom Home Fitness

A lot of women start working out after pregnancy for the "snap back". To look snatched despite having a human come out of your body not too long ago is a major feat, right? Likewise, a lot of women can get discouraged because their body looks different after giving birth and working out isn't giving them the results that they want. But what if women, in postpartum, focus more on body function versus looking nice? On today's episode, I talk with Tonie Lough who helps moms work out for health through her business Mom Home Fitness. In this episode we talk about how she got started as a personal trainer for moms, the misconceptions about body after birth, and why the core is so important.

Give it a listen... if you’re weird enough!

I love this podcast and Chelsie. Fun, relatable, informative resource. Supports mothers to be our most authentic selves and all the juicy weirdness that entails, and to get away from the monotonous, performative mothering we see too much elsewhere. As a mom I tune in to feel in good company. You should too!

Totally relatable!

Christie’s experiences as a mom and a black woman are intriguing. She has a way of making you comfortable, even with the uncomfortable stuff. You want to pay attention to her story.

Also I agree with a previous comment: the opening is adorable (smiling-ear-to-ear adorable)!
