Dog Tag Discovered After 80 Years: A Soldier’s Story

When a set of World War II dog tags are discovered nearly eight decades after being lost, an incredible story begins to unfold. In this episode, we follow the journey of a soldier’s legacy — how one small piece of metal connects generations, sparks emotions, and brings history back to life. In honor of all our Veterans, we’re proud to share the remarkable story of Eddie Rosso, a lifelong resident of Springfield, Massachusetts. A graduate of Springfield Technical High School, Eddie was attending Northeastern University when he answered the call to serve in the United States Army during World War II. He graduated from Officer Candidate School with the rank of First Lieutenant and went on to serve heroically in the Normandy Invasion, continuing through France to the Alsace region. His bravery earned him several commendations, including the Infantryman’s Medal, a Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart. After returning home, Eddie opened Eddie’s Market in Springfield in 1954—a neighborhood staple that still operates today as Eddie’s Liquors. In this special episode, Eddie’s son, Fran Rosso, and grandson, Kippy Rosso, join us to share the incredible story of how Eddie’s long-lost dog tags were discovered in France, and the unforgettable journey they took as a family to retrieve them—culminating in a heartfelt celebration held in his honor on French soil. Patric Young- Do Something Hard Every Day

Today we are talking with Patric Young, ESPN Analyst & former professional basketball player.   We discuss maximizing your potential and the discipline of doing something hard every day. Patric and I quickly bonded over the best MLB team, people that have come into our lives and taught us so much (shout out to Brandon and Isaih) and his idea to have a half time wheelchair basketball game at a Florida Gators game.  Patric Young is a proud Jacksonville native and former University of Florida basketball standout. After a successful college career, he went on to play professionally signing with the New Orleans Pelicans and overseas in Greece, Italy, and Turkey. In 2022, Patric’s life changed when a single-vehicle accident left him paralyzed from the waist down. Through his recovery, he discovered the strength and resources required to regain independence. Determined to help others facing similar challenges, he founded the Patric Young Foundation, dedicated to providing financial, emotional, and physical support to individuals and families navigating life-altering injuries. Today, Patric is a well-recognized ESPN and SEC Network basketball analyst, the author of Sit To Rise, and a highly sought-after motivational speaker.
