A fast-moving history of the western world from the ancient world to the present day. Examine how the emergence of the western world as a global dominant power was not something that should ever have been taken for granted. This podcast traces the development of western civilization starting in the ancient Near East, through Greece and Rome, past the collapse of the Western Roman Empire into the Dark Ages, and then follows European and, ultimately, American history as the western world moved into a dominant world position.

Customer Reviews
Interesting and very educational
This podcast is amazing. I listen to it daily and find it to be extremely educational, interesting, and an amazing mental getaway from daily stress. Adam Walsh is intelligent, articulate, and even has a sense of humor. This podcast has reignited my love of Western Civilization.
Great Western History Survey
I have been listening to this since pretty much the beginning and just started over from episode 1. The quality of the podcast production, Walsh voice and information quality are all good. It is a way to dust off your knowledge of things you haven't studied in a while! At times I wish it went into more depth but then it would take a decade to get through all the content. I would highly recommend to history newbies and as a refresher for nerds.
