    On life-long learning and the importance of higher education: Nina Arnhold - 'Leading Stories'

    Send us a text Dr. Nina Arnhold, an expert in international higher education, currently spearheads higher education operations and analytics in South Asia, with particular emphasis on India at the World Bank. As Global Lead for Tertiary Education, Nina also has a coordinating role for the Bank's higher education work. Since joining the organisation in 2006, she has served in several key positions, including Human Development Sector Coordinator for Central Europe and the Baltic States. Her role as Program Leader for Higher Education has involved managing lending operations and Technical Assistance programs across the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. Prior to her World Bank tenure, Nina brought her expertise to several prestigious institutions. As Senior Program Manager at the European University Association (EUA) in Brussels, she focused on Bologna reforms, quality assurance, and higher education financing. Her career also includes valuable experience with the German Center for Higher Education (CHE) and the Boston Consulting Group. Her academic credentials include a doctorate (DPhil) and a master's degree in Comparative and International Education from the University of Oxford, complemented by a master's degree from the Technical University of Berlin. Nina has contributed significantly to the field through her publications, authoring and co-authoring various books and reports on higher education and competitiveness.     On finding joy: Dawn Aytoun - 'Leading Stories'

    Send us a text Dawn Aytoun is an accomplished education professional who has recently transitioned into a Product and Programme Manager role at Life Lessons Education. Since June 2024, she has been working in a hybrid capacity between Cornwall and London, leveraging her extensive background in education to drive innovative educational initiatives. In her current position, Dawn applies her diverse skill set, which includes project management, curriculum development, relationship building, research, creative strategy, and education. Her transition to this role demonstrates her adaptability and commitment to shaping educational experiences beyond the traditional classroom setting. Prior to joining Life Lessons Education, Dawn built a strong foundation in teaching and educational leadership. She served as a Class Teacher, Senior Mental Health Lead (SMHL), and Humanities Lead at Crofty MAT, where she further developed her skills in classroom management and curriculum design. Dawn's career history also includes significant contributions at Guildford High Junior School, where she worked as a Year 2 teacher and held responsibilities for developing the PSHE curriculum and enhancing staff and pupil well-being. During her tenure there, she took on roles such as Head of PSHE, Head of Wellbeing, and Designated Safeguarding Lead, demonstrating her commitment to holistic education and student welfare. Her experience extends to mentorship and teacher training, as evidenced by her role as a Regional Visiting Professional Mentor with Paddington Academy | United Teaching. In this capacity, she worked on developing and delivering primary teacher training programmes across multiple school sites. Throughout her career, Dawn has consistently shown a passion for education, an ability to adapt to new challenges, and a talent for developing and implementing innovative educational strategies. Her current role at Life Lessons Education allows her to continue making a significant impact on education, now from a programme and product management perspective.
