What Did You Do Yesterday? with Max Rushden & David O'Doherty

Five out of five stars - no notes, but one suggestion. Can we get Guy Montgomery to create a spinoff “Yesterday, what did you do?” that works backward from the end of the day to start?

Grateful to this pod for introducing me a constellation of talented folks, particularly Tim Key and Tom Basden who made one of the most beautiful films I’ve ever seen. Always enjoy hearing about the minutiae of Max & David’s yesterdays, though if I never hear about the BOC again it’ll be too soon. I look forward to this pod every Wednesday and Sunday and am glad that the hosts (or at least one of them) are in it for life.

Nothing about this podcast checks any boxes about what I normally like to listen to. Two middle aged white men randomly indulging in the minutia of their own lives while their guests try to get a word in? Repeatedly detailing an incomprehensible coffee order? Listing all the activities one did to avoid doing actual work? No thanks to all of it. But Max and David are surprisingly endearing in their myopia. It’s nice to hear two people enjoying each other’s company. And it feels healthy to listen to people be generous and kind towards one another when talking about the details of their lives.

What a great witty show. Hosts have great chemistry and are quite funny. Amazing what talented people can produce with such a simple concept. I’m an American who randomly came across a Welch podcast during the pandemic called Socially Distant Sports Bar. A few weeks ago Max was on their show talking about this show, glad he did because I can’t get enough of it!
