    Digimon Episode 31: The 8th Digivice & Izzy's mom had a Lobotomy

    Digimon Episode 31: The 8th Digivice & Izzy's mom had a Lobotomy

In episode 30 of Digimon, Myotismon, angered by the defeat of his henchmen Mammothmon and Gesomon, is determined to find the eighth DigiDestined. Meanwhile, Tai begins to suspect his sister Kari might be the eighth child, as she witnessed the events at Highton View Terrace. As Kari’s parents arrive home, their cat Miko curiously sniffs the Digivice under her bed. Tai’s emotional reunion with his parents raises their surprise.

Izzy sneaks Tentomon into his apartment through his bedroom window, determined to keep their secret from his parents. He recalls overhearing his parents discussing revealing his adoption to him, which adds to his sense of isolation. As Tai shows his Digivice to Kari, they realize Miko has taken the eighth Digivice, now traveling in a lorry. A silhouetted Digimon with one of Myotismon’s glowing Crests is seen, while DemiDevimon is also tracking the Digivice.

Later, Izzy discovers an alert from Gennai about an unidentified Digimon in Tokyo Bay. He and Tentomon head to the bay and confront Raremon. In the ensuing battle, Izzy gets a signal from the eighth Digivice and decides to follow it, only to encounter DemiDevimon. Kabuterimon defeats Raremon, and as Izzy tracks the Digivice, a crow carries it away. Izzy returns home to worried parents, overhearing their concern about his changed behavior. Meanwhile, Tai receives a signal from the eighth Digivice, still being carried by the crow.

Digimon Episode 30: Almost Home Free

Digimon Episode 30: Almost Home Free

In this episode, downtown Tokyo proves as perilous as the Digital World, with chaotic subways, crying babies, bustling crowds, and hunger pangs. Notably, it features the infamous hitchhiking scene.Despite the dub’s cuts, this is one of the funniest episodes in the franchise. While the previous episode had everyone adjusting to the real world, this time the kids are acclimated, leaving the Digimon to struggle with their new surroundings. The kids navigate Tokyo’s chaos, buying subway tickets and waiting behind the yellow line, while the Digimon make blunders, such as jumping in front of a subway train, mistaking it for a monster.Adding to the challenge, the Digimon face onlookers like a baby tugging on Yokomon, causing Sora to play ventriloquist and lie about a Yokomon doll to cover it up. After everyone falls asleep, Patamon stays quiet instead of alerting them to their stop, leading them to end up in Shinjuku.Famished, they prioritize food over reaching home. Joe and Izzy get lost and nearly encounter one of Myotismon’s goons. After reuniting, they’re broke and resort to dubious means to reach Odaiba. In the dub, Tai calls for a police vehicle, Matt hesitates, Joe and Izzy try hailing a cab without promising money, and Sora’s douchebag cousin Duane offers a ride.

Disguising their Digimon as stuffed toys, they learn from their teacher that camp is closed due to the snow and they are being sent home. Persuading their teacher to drop them at Highton View Terrace, the kids discover their Digivices still work in the real world. Meanwhile, Gatomon searches for the eighth DigiDestined under Myotismon’s orders. At Highton View Terrace, the kids realize they all lived there at the same time and recall witnessing a Digimon battle years ago, concluding they were chosen as DigiDestined then.
