We try to figure out what's going on in pop culture and the popular zeitgeist, and review craft beers and adult beverages. Listen to the comedy unfold!
Ep. 101 - The Batman, Delirium Nocturnum, Special Guest Alex Colon
We're back with another one! This time, we tackle Matt Reeves' The Batman, and we had the help of special guest Alex Colon (follow him on Instagram @alexsinfinteinterests), a proper comic book nerd, artist, and LEO. Also, to help us break down this latest Dark Knight feature, we reviewed Delirium Nocturnum (see what we did there with the beer pick?), a 8.5% ABV, 26 IBU Belgian dark ale from the Huyghe Brewery out of Melle, Belgium. If you've seen the movie, or don't care about spoilers, or really want to hear who made the "F!#$ That Guy" segment in this episode (quite a few people got called out), pick up some Delirium Nocturnum, download the episode, and enjoy the ride. Cheers!!!
Ep. 100, four iconic TV shows, four Johnnie Walker whiskeys
We've finally returned! It's been a long time, and we were all in person, and we had a special guest! Joining us was young Miss Gaby Penaherrera, star of the short film Move On. And because this is the 100th episode, we reviewed the 100th episode of the following iconic TV shows: Law & Order: SVU, The X-Files, The Office, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Why four TV shows, you ask? Because we had four Johnnie Walker whiskeys to sample, that's why! Black Label, Gold Label Reserve, Johnnie Walker 18, and Blue Label. Needless to say, much fun was had, many tangents were achieved, and lots of good whiskey was imbibed. Tune in to this marathon, pick up one of the aforementioned whiskeys (or all of them), sample them, compare your grades to ours, and enjoy the ride. Cheers!!!
Ep. 99 - The 12 Beers Of Christmas (NYE Edition)
After a lengthy battle with work, childbirth, COVID-19, and other momentous events, the lads fought their way back to bring you the 12 Beers Of Christmas! It's a little late for Christmas, though, so this is the New Year's Eve edition. The lads cover a multitude of subjects, including No Time To Die, Dune, Hawkeye, Spider Man: No Way Home (obliquely), whether Siri is ever off, and others. And as for the list of beers this year, we have 11 beers and a whiskey! Sean sampled Killer Intellect, Razzmello, and Passaic Porter by the Ross Brewing Company, and Christmas Bomb by Prairie Artisan Ales. Andrew sampled City Light by 5 Boroughs Brewing, Guava Gose by Collective Arts Brewing, Pumpkin Ale by Saranac Brewery, and Red Breast Irish Whiskey, by Irish Distillers. Tomo sampled Freezin Season by Flying Dog Brewery, Old Man Winter by Southern Tier Brewing Company, The Abominable Snowbeer by Defiant Brewing Company, and Trois Pistoles by Unibroue. Another marathon completed, and we hope this episode gets you guys in the mood for the New Year's festivities, and we hope you'll try some of these delectable beverages while partying. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year, and cheers!!!
Ep. 98 - Squid Game, Oktober Fest-Märzen
We're back with a new episode, and we are going old school! In Episode 98, we tackle Netflix's huge hit, Squid Game, and we analyze it the way we did when we started to podcast back in 2017: we turned off any dubbing or subtitles, watched the middle 20 minutes of the first episode, and tried to figure out what's going on. At the same time, we had a belated Oktoberfest celebration by sampling Oktober Fest-Märzen, a 5.8% ABV, 25 IBU Bavarian festival lager, by Ayinger Privatbrauerei, out of Aying, Germany. So download our shenanigans, pick up this delicious brew, and enjoy! Prost!!!
Ep. 97 - Trailers & tangents, Hazelnut Brown Nectar
Episode 97 is here, and in it the lads delve into the trailers for Star Wars Visions and Matrix Resurrections, go off on multiple tangents, including discussing a very creepy image from The Quig's youth. Also, they sample the Hazelnut Brown Nectar, a 5.6% ABV, 33 IBU brown ale by Rogue Ales, out of Newport, Oregon. Download, like, and subscribe! And find out who Stacey and Redbum are! :) Cheers!!!
Ep. 96 - Beer, beer & more beer! (Vol. II)
Episode 96 is here, and it is titled Beer, beer & more beer! (Vol. II)! The last iteration of this episode proved to be very popular, so we decided to bring our listeners more of what they want: beer! Sean reviews Moonlit Grave, a 5.5% ABV oatmeal black ale by Three 3's Brewing, and Impact Wrench, a 10.0% ABV IPA Triple by Industrial Arts Brewing. Tomo reviews Pentagram, a 7.0% ABV sour by Surly Brewing Company, and Rinse/Repeat El Dorado Mosaic, 7.0% ABV, 20 IBU IPA by Westbrook Brewing Company. Andrew reviews Baby Kittens, a 6.5% ABV IPA by Fat Orange Cat Brew Company, and Pomberry Splash, a 4.2% ABV sour by TALEA Beer Company.
Along the way, we talk Black Widow, Suicide Squad, Scarlett Johansson's lawsuit against Disney, Martin Scorcese, Joey Chestnut, and others. So, download the episode, pick up the beers, and cheers!!!
Will make you hungry (for more)!
I've been listening to this podcast for weeks now and I do have to say it's pretty darn funny! Also the way these two describe the food they're eating and the beer they're drinking makes me wish I was chilling with them instead of being my daily commute on the subway! Listen for a good time!
These guys are a great duo. Fun premise, great goofs, worth a listen!
A fun listen, plus some great food & drink finds. Give it a listen!
