“What’s Good, Man?” is a podcast in search of healthy masculinity. Hosted by rappers, writers, and activists Guante and tony the scribe, it’s a response to a pressing need: most of us agree that old-fashioned, violent masculinity needs to change, but aren't sure what comes next. We're here to try to figure it out, together. With episodes on men’s role in the feminist movement, how masculinity is portrayed in pop culture, healthy sexuality, and more, “What’s Good, Man?” strives to be a space for honest, critical conversations about what manhood is, but also about what it could be.

This podcast tackles really hard issues with humor, honesty, accountability, and vulnerability. I highly recommend it to any listener.
Honest and relatable but very educational too
In my PhD research I focused on masculinities and it remains the focus of my (university-level) teaching. I look forward to sharing this podcast in my upcoming cross-cultural masculinities class and then in Gender Studies 101. The creators do an excellent job examining complex topics with nuance. The way they explain their ideas is both incredibly pithy and incredibly accessible. As they explain in the intro, it’s important for men to engage with these topics, in large part because they have to be part of the solutions in addressing challenges that arise in patriarchal societies. If you only have access to one resource on masculinities, make it this one.
P.S. I also highly recommend Guante’s poetry and other works on similar themes available online at places like Button Poetry.
Smart, entertaining “translation” of hegemonic masculinity
Smart, entertaining “translation” of hegemonic masculinity in terms of pop culture, everyday encounters. It’s a great start to the conversation with loved ones who are may be new to critical conversions about men, masculinity, and dominance. Great work Kyle and Tony^^
