Very interesting info, I would add that the turmoil of the '60's added to many aspects of their success. There coming to the US when they did less than 3 months after the assassination of JFK, the country was primed and desperate for an uplifting experience. All through the decade they seem to either be leading the way or right in tune with it all. Andy you credited Lonnie Donnegan with "Rock Island Line" which he did a great rendition of, however credit should be given to Johnny Lomax/muddy waters who first recorded it here in the US in the 1930's. Also I believe Ed Sullivan & his wife were in England on vacation and were delayed at Paddington by throngs of fans, early Beatlemania. Good listen let me know when the next in the series comes out.
