Saleh outlines some key ideas behind this question, as well as its importance to each individual, and its relevance to Algerians in particular. When asking what's wrong with us, we shift our focus from the outside world to the inward world, and upon doing so we initiate a process of self-discovery and rectification. What's wrong with us is not a degrading question, rather it is a humbling one. It is a reminder that we, like everyone around us, are fundamentally flawed. To identify what's wrong with us we must discover a variety of thoughts and behaviors and then compare them to our own. Ultimately, we would discover better alternatives.
