    Welcome to “Come Follow Me! Further.”  A podcast discussing the Come Follow Me content of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints. I’m Justin Bird, a Father, an Abba 😊 I’ll be walking with you into the spirit, psyche and science of at-one-ment. At "Come Follow Me!     62 ~ Jared Halverson's New Mission

    Jared Halverson hosts the Unshaken podcast, going verse by verse through the Come Follow Me curriculum. https://www.youtube.com/@Unshaken  In his public and private efforts to create unshaken faith in the LDS community, he discusses  two themes ad nauseam: the 3 stages of creation, fall and atonement in lived experience, and the proving of contraries to find the truth, or, to find what is needed in any given situation. The Fall and Atonement are, of course, themselves contraries.  Why is Jared so fixated on the idea of opposites? How is he using them to help people?  In this episode, I theorize that he is being guided to study the language of the minds of the people God is preparing to receive the restored Gospel, just as he has been in the past. The restored Church of Jesus Christ has already filled North and South America and Europe, and will reach every nation on earth. Is Jared preparing the language of the Saints to bring the gospel to minds trained in taoism and the yin yang? He has served as an Institute teacher. From 1999 to 2005, he taught at the Institute of Religion in Provo, Utah. Later, he held various roles within the Church Educational System, including positions as an instructor and assistant director at the University of Utah Institute of Religion from 2014 to 2022. He also served as the director of the Westminster Institute of Religion between 2018 and 2020 .In addition to his teaching roles, Halverson has been involved in curriculum development and interfaith dialogue. He has also contributed to various publications and has been a featured speaker in both devotional and academic settings. Currently, he is an associate professor of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University. His landmark devotional on the utility of opposites in discipleship (or contraries) is called “Seeking Truth Devotional Featuring Jared Halverson” and was posted on the Highland Utah East Stake YouTube Channel on January 9, 2022. It currently has 230K views.     61 ~ A New Idea in Christian Theology?

    The adventure begins in a clockwise direction in every Hero’s Journey. The Plan of Salvation is our heroic journey, with God standing at the top of the circle. That means we exited out of His left side when we left Heaven to come to earth (along with a few others 😈). As a symbol of this, did Eve exit Adam’s left side?  To keep our first estate, we needed birth. To keep our second estate, we need rebirth. Water and blood bring us through both of those transitions.  Eve and our mothers bring us through the first transition by blood and water. When Christ "cried out with a loud voice,” (Mark 15:37) was it because something burst inside him? When all of the effects of The Fall found their way back into the side of God, was it His right side? so that all who choose can complete their hero’s journey? Did His private victory become public when the Roman spear pierced His side? It would be beautiful, full circle, A-B | B-A symmetry. Doctrine and Covenants 29 is the ONLY place in LDS cannon where God's secret formula for creation is revealed!! And this is only Come Follow Me podcast where it is explained. But sheesh! After an hour and a half of illustrating Christ as the divine center, I still forget to tie it all back into verse 5. As you watch me illustrate the torus as God's creative process, keep Christ's words in mind, "Lift up your hearts and be glad, for I am in your midst." Parts 1 and 2 of this weeks #ComeFollowMe (#CFM) curriculum for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (#LDS) are very visually laden. I suggest you watch both of them on either Spotify or YouTube, rather than just listen. I outline the pattern of creation, as given by the Lord in section 29 of the Doctrine and Covenants, and expand quite a bit.     Have you ever been with a normally reserved friend, when they just suddenly spill all the tea? That’s what Doctrine and Covenants 29 is like. God is having a moment, and we all get to peak in. I slow and narrow the focus to moments of emotional transition, and then try to sleuth out just what exactly “the first shall be last and the last shall be first” has to do with the creation, and why God mentions it in conjunction with evil.  Jared Halverson @Unshaken can't explain it.
