Sisters with a show about how we are getting through parenthood, marriage, money, fitness, and all of life’s experiences. Mostly influenced by the voice in our heads, our mother. Our mom is very good at telling us what to do & begins her gentle suggestions with “Why don’t you clean the garage; Why don’t you get married; Why don’t you plant the roses over there."     WDY Eat the Beet?!

    Didn't your mother ever tell you to eat the beets?   It's a good thing ours did ... although not all of share Mom's love for beets, it is an inside joke we turn to whenever we try to push our approach to life onto the ones we love.  After all, won't they get as much joy out of what we love as we do?!  Reservation Dogs was referenced in this episode (sooo good - WDY give it a try if you haven't already on Hulu?).  We utilized a website for info in haste while recording this episode and were concerned about its validity which we voiced quietly in this recording.  Upon further investigation, this website is valid but if you have additional information to share with us to help us be inclusive and respectful of all, share it with us at whydontyoushow@gmail.com.     WDY join the PTA?

    School’s back in session!  First things first … are you joining the PTO/PTA?  We share our experiences from the teacher and parent perspective.  Joining us this episode is Lauren Mahana from the Magic on the Patio podcast (check her podcast out!).  Do we commit to joining the PTO? As the acronym states, both parents and teachers should pay to join and as Christen educated all of us (or at least Carlie), the higher the membership at each school, the better off a school is.  Here’s a link to the National PTO and PTA Organizations.     Now that we’re allowed to have dogs, we’ve all got one! Our sister, Carolyn & brother, Drew join us to share their dog-parenting experience. We all adore our dogs.     WDY Go to Camp!

    Teachers go to camp too. Carlie and I both have packed this summer with professional learning. While our children are going to day camps - at home and with the Parks and Rec. We’ve had our share of overnight camp experiences too! All of it is work for parents and pricey. We think it’s pretty worth it to make all these memories. I’m romantic about being able to be home with my boys. Carlie is practical and has a more hands-off approach. Why don’t you listen?

    2.10 WDY go on Vacation.

    We have been all over the country together. And we’re not done! Carlie and I love traveling together. I think we also really dig meal planning together, deciding our activities, planning where we’re going to stay, even who’s packing what & how. Although she won’t let me nail down Christmas plans for 2022, we always have a blast and make amazing memories. Why don’t you listen.
