Beech Band: A New Wearable Device to Manage Parkinson’s Symptoms:- Interview with Carl Beech

We were delighted to host Carl Beech, the creator of the Beech Band, a new wearable device to manage Parkinson’s symptoms. Carl was 51 when he was diagnosed with Young-Onset Parkinson’s.  He began to experience slurring and a rapidly worsening stammer. Faced with the loss of speech, he nearly gave up hope. But then, while experimenting with a therapeutic tapping technique, he had a personal breakthrough – rhythmic tapping allowed him to regulate his speech and relieve his stammer. This led to an idea: what if this could be turned into a wearable device that could help many more people? Today, Carl will be sharing his experience with the Beech Band. After 13 months of wearing the device Carl has experienced remarkable changes to his symptoms. Since its release in July over 15,000 have been sold and there have been very positive reactions from user. Whilst this story is inspiring and hopeful,  it’s important to remember that Parkinson’s is complex, and no single approach works for everyone and that the positive responses are anecdotal. The Beech Band is a wellness device, not a medical treatment, so please speak with your medical team if you have any concerns about using the device or are considering any changes to your medication. More information on the device can be found here:- https://www.beechband.com/ https://www.facebook.com/p/BeechBand-61563836532593/ https://www.instagram.com/beechband/?hl=en https://www.tiktok.com/@beechband

Mucuna and Parkinson's Disease: An Expert Answers Your Questions

We recently hosted two webinars on Mucuna pruriens, a tropical legume rich in levodopa. The first, with Dr. Roberto Cilia, focused on the use of Mucuna in low-income countries where levodopa is often unavailable or unaffordable. The second, with Dr. Rafael Maldonado, took a broader perspective. Due to continued interest and questions on mucuna, we organised today’s session with Dr. Tanya Denne. Since 2010, Dr. Denne has researched Mucuna for its potential in treating Parkinson's.  Having been mentored by Dr. Laurie Mischley, she chose her Naturopathic Medical School with a focus on serving the Parkinson's community. Dr. Denne treats the whole person with a personalized, holistic approach and specializes in optimizing care plans and addressing treatment gaps. Driven by her passion for public health, she joined Dr. Roberto Cilia in Ghana in February to help tackle Parkinson's care in countries where Mucuna is sometimes all they have.  This session is intended for informational and educational purposes only. If you're seeking medical advice, please consult a healthcare professional.  For those who are new to us, “No Silver Bullet” is managed by Mark Limebear and myself, with the goal of sharing valuable Parkinson's expertise. Our mission is to empower you with knowledge and motivation to make informed choices about adapting your lifestyle to manage your symptoms and slow disease progression. We also share recordings of our webinars on YouTube and Spotify. You can find the details on our website: nosilverbullet4pd.com. If you have questions following this webinar, please do not hesitate to contact Dr Denne on: DoctorDenne.com DoctorDenne@gmail.com
