    Giants vs Commanders Reaction: Russell Wilson’s Brutal Debut Caps Another Lame Opener | Giant Mess

    Giant Mess podcast host Neal Lynch recaps the New York Giants' 21-6 loss to the Washington Commanders in the 2025 season opener and previews the Dallas Cowboys matchup. The Giants lost 21-6 to Washington, scoring only field goals while the Commanders scored three touchdowns. Offensive output was extremely limited: the Giants managed just 231 total yards while the Commanders put up over 430, and New York failed to convert red zone trips into touchdowns on multiple occasions. New York is now 3-15 in games without a healthy Andrew Thomas since 2022. Newcomer QB Russell Wilson struggled in his debut (17 of 37, 168 yards, no TDs), dealing with constant pressure (22 Washington pressures on 45 dropbacks) and intermittent drops from receivers. New York ran 11 plays inside the 10 and came away with only 3 points.
