That you have to sacrifice your values for success, even if it means exploiting other people and ignoring the call God has placed on your life.     Humility in the Face of Correction with Taylor Ducoff

    “Failure that follows effort is not failure.” How do you take on adversity and stay positive? How do you run toward a challenge, instead of from it? How do you lay down your pride and gratefully accept correction? In this week’s episode, Anthony hears from Taylor Ducoff, Senior Vice President of Commercial and Industrial Lending at Cadence Bank, about the importance of unlearning counterproductive work habits. Taylor uses his childhood participation in sports to teach us how the workforce benefits from a history of “repetition of correction.” He encourages listeners that “when someone is taking the time to correct you, it's because they care about you.” For those who feel wounded or defensive at correction, Taylor recommends seeking out mentors who can teach humility in the face of adversity. For those trying to unlearn bad work habits and built better character, he also suggests: “Try to be a sponge. What is the ultimate purpose of our work, and how do we live that out? In this episode, Anthony speaks with Josh Kwan, President of The Gathering, a learning community of philanthropists motivated by their Christian faith to give humbly and steward wisely all the resources God has entrusted to their care. Anthony and Josh dive into the reality that despite the fact work is a privilege and something we should enjoy, discipline is also required of us.
