    Episode Thirteen

    In this weeks episode I express my concern for us, my fellow humans and myself, and discuss how we can come together in community and in Christ to overcome the oppression of the world. By stepping out in faith and action we invite God to help us to make powerful changes in our lives and the lives of our fellows. Here is the prayer I offered, if you wish to utilize it in your own life: “Father God, please, set me free from fear, from doubt, from bondage to sin. Help me to be made new, in you and to better discern your perfect will for my life. Please, pour into me to overflow such that my thoughts be your thoughts, my words be your words, my actions your actions, my will your will, my heart your heart. Guide me along the good and narrow path you have laid out for me, putting blinders on me such that I do not stray to the right or left, do not succumb to the temptations of the devil, but flee from them in all their forms. Father, please, guide the steps of my feet and bless the work of my hands such that I would serve you in all I do. Thank you for your love and mercy and please, continue to activate in me all the fruits of the spirit and equip me with the complete armor of God, giving me a true mind and body of Christ. In Jesus' name, amen!” Remember, fellow traveler, that God will provide us with the door but we must be the one to walk through it! And, all too often, Satan will use fear to try to block us from receiving the blessings that God has for us: so, when you are afraid or lacking in confidence or that little voice in your head is telling you that you shouldn't even bother, ask for God's help and He will show you how to walk through that fear into the blessings He has for you on the other side.     Episode Twelve

    In this episode we begin our discussion of ways that we can address the crisis we see of not just the presence of increasing numbers of unhoused humans all over the US but, even more so, how those people are being treated. We discuss making housing a human right, not just in word but in deed. Want to get involved? Here are some options: PATH, Alpha Project In San Diego and want to stand up for our unhoused neighbors? Get involved and come to a city council meeting in person or via Zoom or Make a Comment Online Our Prayer: "Father God, please, help our unhoused neighbors and empower me to better help them.     Episode Eleven

    In this episode I discuss two powerful Biblical tools that we can use to overcome the world and come together in community and in Christ in order to be of good cheer when facing trials in our lives. These tools are: 1) Faith 2) Action Our Challenge: Start just saying "Hi" to people you don't know and don't normally greet on the street, in your office, at the grocery store, etc. Then. share your stories of doing this with on the social media platform of your choice with #JustSayHi Our Prayer: "Father God, please, empower me to be an emissary for you, an emissary for the Living God. Give me the courage and understanding to spread your love to all those I encounter. Help me to help my fellows and to better know and live your will for my life. In Jesus' name, amen!"     Episode Ten- My Origin Story (Part VI)

    Welcome, fellow travelers, to part six of my "origin story"- the conclusion:  in it, we continue our journey through your humble hosts origins and I share a bit more about the experiences that God has used (and is using) to mold me into the man He has called me to be.  I also talk about the specific experiences that influenced and helped to develop my early faith and conversion to Christianity. Here is the prayer that I shared: “Father God, thank you for the gift of community that you have given us. Please, empower me to love my fellows as you love them and help me to remember that when I am struggling I need only to turn to my fellows, in Christ, to be reminded of your love and goodness.     Episode Nine- My Origin Story (Part V)

    Welcome, fellow travelers, to part five of my "origin story":  in it, we continue our journey through your humble hosts origins and I share a bit more about the experiences that God has used (and is using) to mold me into the man He has called me to be.  We also dive into some methods that those who may be struggling with addiction can implement into order to begin taking intentional steps toward something different. Here are the three steps that I, myself, used and continue to use to break the chains of addiction and to maintain my daily reprieve from such: 1. Prayer- Here is the prayer I shared in this episode and I strongly urge you to try out: “God, please, set me free! Set me free from the chains of addiction: empower me against this spirit of addiction that afflicts me and make me new in you, in your son, Jesus. Pour into me to overflow and put blinders on me such that I do not stray to the right or left, do not succumb the temptations of the devil, but and empowered to flee from them in all their forms. In Jesus name, Amen.” Please, my friends, pray this prayer every day, even multiple times a day. 2. Action- Start taking just one intentional action to begin moving toward something different. It could be: Reading your Bible at a regular time (Bible Gateway, Bible Gateway App for Android, Bible Gateway App for iPhone) Attending church (My Church) Attending any manner of support group (NA, AA Meeting Guide, _A, etc.) Etc. 3. Obedience- Obey God and trust that He knows and wants what is best for you. Obey the greatest and all encompassing commandment, found in the book of Mark (12:29-31) and included below: “The most important one”… “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Are you struggling with addiction?
