    Ep. 188 | I Can't Remember If I Cried: Lori Tucker-Sullivan

What do you do when you are a widow, a writer, and you want to tell stories about other widows who just happen to have been the partners of actual rock stars? Well, that's what Lori Tucker-Sullivan has done in her book "I Can't Remember If I Cried: Rock Widows on Life, Love, and Legacy."  Join Anita and Mel as they learn more about Lori, her story, and how she's telling the stories of other widows. Among those interviewed in Lori's  book are:
Judy VanZant who, after losing husband Ronnie of Lynryd Skynyrd, sued the re-formed band in order to protect her interests.
Sandy Chapin, widow of Harry Chapin, who has worked tirelessly to uphold Harry's significant legacy around activism and hunger prevention.
Crystal Zevon, the ex-wife of Warren Zevon, who provides details of her abusive relationship with Warren and how she resolved her anger and grief.
Jamie Weiland, widow of Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland, speaking openly of Scott's mental illness, which at times kept him housebound for days.
Janna Leblanc, widow of Stevie Ray Vaughn, who shares the details of her visits with Stevie in rehab.

Positive but Realistic

Appreciate the positivity overall while not at all ignoring the struggle, pains, and evolution off grieving and continued growth in life. I’m on year four of widowhood and so much of this podcast is still helpful. Thank you so much!

For Widows Who Love Snacks

But seriously Mel and Anita make me feel like I am not alone in the rotten hellscape that is widowhood. No meek public radio whispering - just all out open and real. And I love snacks.

This podcast is INVALUABLE.

Widow We Do Now is an exceptional resource and community for those who are navigating the loss of a partner. The balance of empathy and humor that Mel and Anita bring to each episode, along with their valuable personal insights, allow for an extremely accessible and relatable format and presentation of topics which can be emotional and otherwise difficult to approach. I am continually impressed by the safe, open, nonjudgmental space that is facilitated by the hosts, allowing for a wide range of experiences to be shared with intention and respect. It is clear that the only agenda of the series is to help this community walk through their journey in a way where you feel less alone and like a path forward (whatever that looks like for each individual) is possible. Though intended for those who have lost partners, there is also great value for those looking to support friends/family who have walked this path and/or those who have navigated grief journeys in other capacities. Thank you to Mel and Anita for creating this welcoming/kind/refreshingly quirky/educational space that makes a positive impact with every new episode.💙
