Wild Cannons

Wild Cannons

The Wild Cannons podcast is all about snowboard culture in the Pacific Northwest. We want to go deeper, explore, and expand on what we as riders do outside of snowboarding (fishing, moto, mtn biking, etc)—expanding on passions and “life” when not on the snow. We will invite guests/friends/professionals living a rider lifestyle or working in the industry to each podcast. The vision is to also highlight the rider and the locally owned businesses they own, work for or associate with. This way, we can support each other on and off the mountain.

    Mike Miller | Episode 23

Mike has captured so much of what we hold closest as skateboarders and snowboarders - getting clipped up! For basically an entire generation of Spokane-area riders, he has been the filmer. Documenting sessions, trips back east, and local moments that might have otherwise been lost to time. He has and continues to put the lens on so many local and regional talents, giving them visibility to us locally and nationwide. On the flipside he also brought pro riders to our area to film and get clips. Beyond just documenting tricks, Mike still skates and snowboards! In this episode we get into his time as a night janitor in Tahoe, how he got into filming, late night nachos, sleeping under the stairs, road trips, knowing when to hype up or keep your mouth shut when riders are battling a spot, Team Pitchers and so much more! Phil Schulz | Episode 22

Phil is best known as the manager who cultivated the Mt. Spokane terrain park into what it is today. He built a team culture rooted in respect, hard work, and genuine camaraderie. His crew came back season after season because they didn’t just work for him, they believed in his vision of what the park could be. Phil helped shape the park into a place for everyone: dedicated rail riders, jumpers, beginners and the old heads looking to hit some steel and catch a bit of air. Phil was also pivotal in bringing the rope tow to life, pushing the park into a new era of progression and accessibility. Phil wasn’t just a manager. He was a builder of culture, a champion of inclusivity, and a friend to countless riders who felt his impact. This episode we get into surfing, climbing, fit checks, summers at Mt. Hood, Thunder Bears, lost radios, and so much more!  Show Flow 00:00 Intro to Phill Schulz 02:53 Phil's Background and Early Life 04:45 Phil's Snowboarding Journey 11:02 Surfing Adventures 15:51 Mt. Michael Komarov | Episode 19

For about a decade, Michael Komarov has been a mainstay in the Mt. Spokane terrain park. He's spent countless hours building the most fun and recognized park in the region.  His dedication, hard work, and love for the local snowboard scene have been a major reason Mt. Spokane's park has grown into what it is today. Michael is one of those unsung heroes who rarely gets the spotlight, but his impact is everywhere (from racking, digging, and building handmade features in the winter to offering employment to friends in the summer). We’re stoked to finally see him getting out of the park and rip some well-earned pow... he’s more than earned it!  This episode we dive into his skateboard background, park crew, poker, the Git Done Boys, road trips, and entrepreneurship.   Keep up with Michael   Instagram: @michael.komarov Supreme Sprinklers: supremesprinklersllc.com Hosted by: Wild Cannons Instagram: @wildcannons Email: wildcannonspodcast@gmail.com   Partnership: Uprise Brewing Co.
