Karate is for everyone. So, join us each week for a 20 to 25 minute conversation on all types of subjects. We go from managing the distractions of daily life, through martial arts history and people, and common sense concepts to add to your self defense armor. Plus we have interviews and so much more. After spending over 40 years discussing life's challenges in a dojo, (both as a student and as a teacher) I decided it would be fun to share the conversations with everyone. And it is! We're having a great time with our guests each week thinking, talking and very importantly sharing a laugh or two along the way.

    Book Episode - Three Books on Taoism

    Thanks Sensei Tracey, for hanging out and talking Taoism books with us today. As always, it was a fun.  During the episode I mention that, as you can see, the word is spelled with a "T" but is said with a "D" - Daoism (as it were). I googled why? It is a simple 1/2 hour search if you're interested. But here are the highlights: a) it was an interpretation of it's time, b) the sound is breathy and lives between our 2 letters - T & D, and finally c) some recent prints have changed the "T" to a "D".     Landyn Leaves us with a lot of Knowledge....

    Today's show is probably not as closely focused on karate as usual. During the conversation with Sensei Landyn we got so interested in what he was saying that we lost ourselves in the conversation.  I hope you do the same.     Talking Adamant, Ai and Actionless Action - Letter A Abounds

    The first thing we say as the episode opens is that we love Letter Episodes; exploring ideas and not really sure where the conversation is going to go. The 3 of us talk, laugh and learn.  The conversation travels all over the place. Let's start with a term used often in America in the dojo - oos (This spelling is a nod to Master Kelljchian. It's commonly spelled osu).
