    Episode 10 - Finding Wisdom in the book of Ruth

    When I studied Ruth, I was amazed by how many biblical concepts and values were packed into such a small book! In this episode, we dig into Ruth to take away 3 key points: - Hesed is something we should all strive for.  This word wraps up many of God's attributes into one word -- love, covenant faithfulness, mercy, grace, kindness, loyalty, acts of devotion, and loving-kindness that goes beyond the requirements of duty. -God uses the faithfulness of ordinary people to accomplish his extraordinary plan - God's plan will always come to fruition and we can't do anything to mess that up!  If you want to dive deeper into some of the things that were talked about today, check out the following resources: *Read Ruth 1-4 (and use a study bible or bible study app that digs deeper-- I use the First 5 app) *Read Matthew 1 for the genealogy  *Read Proverbs 11:27, 21:21 (the original translation of these verses used the word Hesed) *Learn more about gleaning in Leviticus 19:19, 23:22 , and Deuteronomy 24:19 *Learn More about Kinsman Redeemer in Deuteronomy 25:5-10 *Podcast that digs into each chapter: "Ruth" by Cory Baugher As always thanks for listening!
