Understanding End Times, Part 4 / EP 10

What can we be sure of in the future? Join us as father-son duo, Dale and Joel Evrist, engage in a lively discussion on the topic of Eschatology, a theological term which describes the study of end times in the Bible. In this episode, we will continue talking about how to understand a few common modes of interpreting the book of Revelation, including conversations about the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation, and what events in the future we can be certain of as Bible-believing Christians. We will also discuss the most scripturally sane approach for how to live today in order to be ready for future events. "That future appointment with Christ should motivate present living to be holy." - Dr. David Shibley "I don't know when Jesus will return, but I do know what my attitude should be in the waiting, and that's readiness." - Frank Turrek The Tribulation: Pre-Tribulational/Pre-Millennialist View: The view that the Church will be caught up before the Tribulation begins. Amillennial Tribulationalist View: The view that the tribulation has been happening since Christ's death and resurrection coincides with a spiritual period of Christ's reign over the earth. Postmillennial Tribulationalist View: The view that the Church is ruling and reigning with Christ on the earth and is also going through the tribulation at the same time. Classical Pre-Millennialism View: The view that the Church has been and will continue to experience the tribulation until Christ's return. Matthew 24:13-14 Matthew 24:21 & 29 Revelation 2:9-10 Revelation 7:9-14   Things we can be sure of as Bible-believing Christians: The Return of Christ ("The Blessed Hope"): See Titus 2:13, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 1:7, Hebrews 9:27-28. The Resurrection: See 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. Glorified Bodies: See 1 John 3:2, 1 Corinthians 15:35-52. The Judgment Seat of Christ: See 2 Corinthians 5:10 & 17, Romans 14:10. The Great Commission's Fulfillment: See Matthew 28:19-20, Revelation 7:9. All Nations Around the Throne of God: See Revelation 7. The Great White Throne Judgment: See Revelation 20. Millennial Reign of Christ: See Episode 9 Spotify Apple Podcasts YouTube A New Heaven and a New Earth: See Revelation 21.   Recommended Resource: "Living as if Heaven Matters" by Dr. David Shibley Purchase: https://a.co/d/fzge4n6   To support this ministry, visit lifereachresources.com or newsongnashville.com and click the "give" tab to help us continue to bring Bible-based content to you and others around the world. Understanding End Times, Part 3 / EP 9

When is Christ returning and what is the Millennium? Join us as father-son duo, Dale and Joel Evrist, engage in a lively discussion on the topic of Eschatology, a theological term which describes the study of end times in the Bible. In this episode, we will continue talking about how to understand a few common modes of interpreting the book of Revelation, and some implications of holding those various views. We'll dive into what the Bible says about Christ's return and common views on when the Millennium takes place. The Millennium: The 1000-year rule and reign of Christ when He returns. (Acts 1:11, Hebrews 9:28, Revelation 20:1-6) Pre-Millennial View: The view that Christ will return before the 1000 years of the literal and physical reign of Christ. (Revelation 19:11-21, Revelation 13) Amillennial View: The view that Christ is coming to establish His rule and overcome the rule of Satan without a literal reign on earth. (Matthew 16:19) Post-Millennial View: The Church of Christ is going to have dominion over the earth for a prolonged period of time and then Christ will return and reign in the midst of His Kingdom that His people have prepared for Him on the earth. (1 Corinthians 15:24-25) "We need to do as much good as we can, for as many as we can, for as long as we ever can." - John Wesley "I don't totally know, I believe in the return of Christ and I believe in preaching the Gospel. But, this I do know. In the waiting our attitude should be a readiness for the return of Christ so that when He returns He finds us doing what He has asked of us." - Frank Turek Additional Scripture References to help in your study of end times: Matthew 24:14 Matthew 25:14-30 Matthew 28:19-20 Acts 1:8 1 Corinthians 15:24-25 Ephesians 6:10   To support this ministry, visit lifereachresources.com or newsongnashville.com and click the "give" tab to help us continue to bring Bible-based content to you and others around the world. Understanding End Times, Part 2 / EP 8

How should we interpret the book of Revelation and what it says about the rapture? Join us as father-son duo, Dale and Joel Evrist, engage in a lively discussion on the topic of Eschatology, a theological term which describes the study of end times in the Bible. In this episode, we will talk about understanding a few common modes of interpreting the book of Revelation, and some implications of holding those various views. Preterist view: The view that the book of Revelation has already been fulfilled in the first century. Futurist View: The view that the book of Revelation is yet to be fulfilled. Metaphorical View: The view that the book of Revelation is a metaphor for the theme of triumphing with good over evil. Mix of the Preterist, Futurist, and Metaphorical Views: The view that there are certain parts of the book of Revelation that have already taken place, some that are yet to come, and some that are metaphorical. In addition, we will discuss what the Bible has to say about four common views of the rapture, which is the idea that there will be an event where Jesus catches up His Church from the earth to take us to Heaven before He's completely finished with His work on the earth. Although the two main texts supporting the validity of a rapture are 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 and Matthew 24:40-41. We will discuss the following most common views on the rapture: The Pre-Tribulation Rapture View: The view that the Church will be caught up before the seven years of tribulation happens. (Revelation 4:1, Daniel 9:20-27) The Mid-Tribulation Rapture/The Pre-Wrath Rapture View: The view that the Church will be caught up during the seven years of tribulation, but before God's wrath. (Revelation 7:13-14, Revelation 11:15-18, 1 Thessalonians 5:9) The Post-Tribulation Rapture/The Post-wrath Rapture View: The view that the Church is still present when the wrath of God is being poured out. (Revelation 14; Revelation 11 + 13; Revelation 18:24) No Rapture View: The view that there will not be a rapture.
