This is a show I am really enjoying because it’s so multi-dimensional. I am a fan of “people-watching” and “With That Being Ced” is like the audio version of that.
You can listen one week and it feels like you’re sitting in on guy-talk, and then another week Ced is asking intently about a perspective of a female guest. It’s also unique in that Ced served in the military and we get a little personal insight into different places he’s been or his guests have been to. Who knew Guam had great strip clubs? Half of my fam is from Guam, and that topic somehow seems to have missed us at Thanksgiving. My parents were both stationed in Misawa, Japan, before I was born so it was kind of cool picturing some of what Air Force life might have been for them.
And don’t get me started on the social justice topics—I was so engulfed in the episodes about police relations that I wanted to throw my phone out of my car window at times from being SO charged up, except... I wouldn’t be able to listen to more shows without it, and I’d have to buy a new one. I was very impressed by Ced being willing to talk to anybody about anything, no matter how different their views are from his.
He’s also open to feedback and willing to expand on topics either in the Anchor app or social media, so it’s dope being able to really be a part of the conversation. Hit the subscribe button! You won’t regret it.
