FULL EPISODE: Kiki mordi sits #WithChude

To see Kiki Mordi break down in tears during this interview was to watch a strong voice who has carried so much on her shoulders finally confront the weight of the darts the the world has thrown at her.

From losing her father, to quitting school because a lecturer wouldn’t stop harassing her sexually.

From braving her trauma to tell the ‘Sex for Grades’ story to being attached by former friends and colleagues for that same story. From confronting the violence and death during the #EndSARs protests, to running and away and hiding because of threats to her life…

How has she survived all of that? How is she surviving all of this?

Today, #WithChude, she shares like never before.

FULL EPISODE: Olumide Emmanuel sits #WithChude.

When I was in my teens, I went to the Singles Conference held by Pastors Olumide and Ify Emmanuel at the National Stadium, joining thousands at the jam-packed event. I couldn’t have known that while they taught, their marriage had become a battle zone, with his wife allegedly being physically violent and taking his children away from him ever since.

He says from that deep pain came his message to the world on marriage, relationships and faith, helping people understand what they should do to themselves and what they should take to God in prayer.

He has shaken tables on church doctrine such as divorce (he says it’s biblical), tithes, money (he says many pray for what God does not do), politics and night vigils (he says he no longer does that his).

I have been invited to preach at Dr Emmanuel’s church in my other lives over a decade ago, and have seen the lives he has changed close up.

He has been a blessing to me on the pulpit and personally over the past few years, and it’s a delight to have this raw, powerful conversation with him for our Easter Special recorded in February.

The truths he shares are piercing.
