  2. The Storyteller's Truth w/ Tamra Simmons

The Storyteller's Truth w/ Tamra Simmons

Tamra Simmons was gathering eggs and water from the well in a small community at the age of 6 and is now an internationally acclaimed executive producer, winner of the Peabody, and a lifetime achievement award. She is a storyteller that listens with her heart, and builds not only connections, but a rapport of protection and guidance for those that she creates those bonds with. It's not just about the story, it's about listening and caring for those that have a story to tell. That's Tamra. Tamra set out to create a "simple" 2 hour documentary that would become a 3 part series, a federal case, a multi-charge indictment called 'Surviving R. Kelly'. The amount of women coming forward to share their experience kept coming as more women gathered in Tamra's community leading to the 3 part - and now we know, a case study to build the federal case. Tamra and Amy talk about following their soul and their spirit which leads to everlasting glimmers through the pain of "humaning" - that is, we call in what our soul desires. Tamra shares how she loves reading case studies for the Harvard Business Review, only for her documentary to become one. Huzzah! That's the magic - and - as you will hear, it came with a lot of physical, emotional, and mental hurdles. What's next for Tamra? Who knows! But it will be soul-led, and it will be magical and divine. Scooping Never Stopped w/ Sunshine Chabot

This episode is dedicated to the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation. Sunshine Cabot was scooped, or removed from her biological family and placed with European families to "remove the Indian from the Indian" as mandated by the government in those exact words. Through growing up feeling lost, not knowing her roots, where she came from, she felt a deep ache inside that grew into a desire to turn back and help those kids that were also scooped, to find themselves and guide them toward their purpose in life. The truth? Media will say that scooping occurred from the 60's to the 90's...but it indeed never stopped, the government just became more clever by hiding it within legitimate government systems e.g. child welfare services. Sunshine shares her story, and briefly touches on reconnecting organically with her biological mom knowing and trusting that her spirit guides and ancestors played a role in bringing them together - she's saving that for a book. The time to come together and restore humanity, to create the balance we've never seen in this lifetime and return everyone to themselves is Sunshine's mission - with light and love, and shadow work, do you work so that you can come together in community to make the impact you were always destined to make.
