    "Something Has Happened"- Serges Demefack

    Serges Defemeflack is the founder of  Yemba USA  the nonprofit cultural organization that promotes Bamileke culture, language, and tradition.  He is a well-respected and influential leader who has dedicated his life to fighting for immigrants' rights. Currently, he works for the  American Friends Service Committee, a non-profit organization located in Newark NJ. He coordinates programs that center on fighting for human rights and ending detention and deportation. He is an activist well-versed in immigration and citizenship law.  Apart from his profession Serges is a well-rounded artist, author, historian, and intellectual. Speaking with him he provided insights into how healing within our communities begins with becoming intentional.     Amanda and Taffarah are the creator of Operation Stop CPS, a movement that protects families and children from the child protection system. Together they work tirelessly alongside families to dismantle and re-unite their children who were legally kidnnaped.     RepNewarkDaily sat down with Red to discuss his most recent project the “Stimulus Package Tour”. We gained insight on the artist philosophical views, how he uses it, and his own life experience as a portrait within his artwork. We also explored topics about race, censorship, identity, violence,and the social/political paradigm of the black experience-within communities like Newark NJ.
