Harvey Mason jr. On Managing Expectations and Minimizing Compromise

A renowned record producer and movie producer, as well as the CEO of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason jr. is as successful as he is driven. Harvey credits his upbringing for making him grounded in his work ethic and prolific in his creative efforts. Before the music business, he was a standout basketball player at the University of Arizona, before an injury resulted in a career pivot that would change his life. Thanks to the background of his father in music, Harvey had an ear for arrangement and a mindset for orchestration. Harvey worked his way up in the industry, taking small jobs and credits, learning the beauty of details in the process. Following the “show not tell” approach, he used his drive and old school ideals to compile an unparalleled list of credits. Producing the likes of Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake, he also produced hit films from “Dreamgirls” and “Pitch Perfect” to most recently “Sing” and “Straight Outta Compton.” The common thread to his work is the ability to enable legends to sound their best, while welcoming diversity and variety. For all of his work and accolades, Harvey shows us how team matters most and that collaboration is a true artform.  Presented by Vitapod www.VitapodWorld.com In Association with Springfield Media Subscribe to The Workout the Doubt Podcast Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/workout-the-doubt-with-dolvett-quince/id1639724951 Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/0WU31sFPAYyVHvr6hDNzlE Google Podcasts https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9yc3MuYXJ0MTkuY29tL3dvcmtvdXQtdGhlLWRvdWJ0LXdpdGgtZG9sdmV0dC1xdWluY2U?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwj3o4SWlMj5AhUnrWoFHQU8DIcQ9sEGegQIARAC Follow Dolvett Quince Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dolvett/?hl=en Twitter: https://twitter.com/dolvett?lang=en
