Its practically a therapy session for these grown men who complain about fans complaining, then try to separate themselves from the same “fans.” I appreciate the contrarian views at times but there’s no substance in any of this. The episode following the protest was quite possibly the worst discourse in corporate finance I have ever heard. Setting the financial illiteracy of the panel aside, the £2.1 billion of PE money that Eghbali and Boehly used to take over Chelsea needs to be repaid…and repaid at a multiple. That multiple is at least the valuation that will be required to pay back the £500 million of 12% PIK loans maturing in 2033. None of debt includes the £500 million in outstanding bank loans at 8% that was squandered in the incompetent squad rebuild.
