Brittany Estes: A Pink-Haired Mom of 7 Reveals Her Joy

Brittany Estes is a pink-haired (sometimes rainbow-haired) mom of 7 and she radiates joy. Luckily for us, she brings it to the internet to share! I first met Brittany through a random Instagram connection and now she is one of my favorite people to follow because of her fun, empowering content -- including some viral reels and awesome, inspiring messages for young women.
She is a pastor's wife, a biological and adopted mom, a writer, a licensesed coach with Jess Connolly's "Go and Tell Gals" and creator of The Bestie Club. Brittany spreads joy wherever she goes and believes in having fun with your Christian faith. I saw a post on her feed recently that said "Have you ever met someone that was sunshine in human form?" Well, I think we've met her!
Enjoy this episode and be sure to follow Brittany on socials! Here's her Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jbrittanyestes/

    Michelle Donnelly: Agape Moms

Michelle Donnelly is the founder of Agape Moms, a unique ministry designed to speak to and equip single moms. Michelle is a single mom of three and she believes that every single mom can discover a life of peace, power, and purpose, right in the middle of what God is carrying them through.
She felt called to minister to women like herself and is providing such an important service. We often hear how the Church doesn't cater well enough to single moms or nontraditional families. We must do better and we can follow the lead of people like Michelle.
Even if you are not a single mom, you can learn so much about how to help those in your community. And let's be honest, all moms can relate on many levels. It was so fun and easy to chat with Michelle -- I loved our conversation and. I know you will too!

Kim Patton: An Adoption Story She Never Expected

In this conversation with the lovely Kim Patton, we speak about her journey through infertility and trusting God to guide her towards adoption.
Now mom to Eden, Kim and her husband are expecting a second baby they will be adopting from Edens birth mom. We talk about the incredible love Kim has found for Edens birth mom and how it’s showed her how much God loves us.
We also talk about her experience leaving a church and a denomination after a lifetime...her family’s path toward *very* small church in the living room of friends and how COVID gave them the chance to re-evaluate what they wanted and needed in their church life.
Kim was so sweet and I really enjoyed talking with her about two things I am passionate about: adoption and the Church.

Claire Culwell: An Abortion Survivor's Story

Claire Culwell is an abortion survivor. She was adopted as a baby and grew up with an incredible, loving family. As an adult, she was inspired to find her birth mother. Soon after that meeting, her birth mother revealed something shocking: she had nearly been aborted.
Pregnant at 13, Claire's mother was unknowingly carrying twins. When she had an abortion, the procedure took the life of only one baby. In this episode, you'll hear for the child that survived.
In her new book, "Survivor: An Abortion Survivor's Surprising Story of Choosing Forgiveness and Finding Redemption," Claire tells her beautiful story. I was lucky enough to be able to write a review of this book for Christianity Today this month as well!
I absolutely loved speaking with Claire and I don't think you'll find anyone with a more beautiful heart. Her grace and perspective on her life and her birth mom are to be admired. I hope you enjoy this episode.

Christina Crenshaw, Ph.D. a professor, researcher, writer, and human trafficking fighter. She's also a mom of two and someone who recently experienced her own form of "cancel culture" when a group of students at Baylor targeted a tweet she shared, labeling her "transphobic."
In this episode, we discuss the tweet that turned her world upside down and how she chose not to back down from her beliefs, which stem from her work in trafficking, which often goes back to protecting women's spaces.
You don't want to miss Christina's insightful thoughts on sex, gender, academia and keeping Biblically rooted in our beliefs and convictions. I have absolutely loved following Christina recently and was thankful to speak with her for this thought-provoking interview.

Michelle Cowan: How MOPS is Ministering to Moms

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) has been around for nearly 50 years and it has been such an important ministry to moms of little ones over the years. MOPS partners with local churches to bring moms together for fellowship, food and ministry -- usually while they get a few hours of childcare thrown in!
Michelle Cowan started worked with MOPS just as COVID begin and has been part of the incredible adaptation the past year required. Despite the struggle of meeting in person, the program really took off online -- creating "Mama Meetup Groups" by topic and geography, as well as launching a few other new initiatives.
In this conversation, Michelle shares her passion for getting the Gospel to moms. We talk about the unique ministry of reaching women who may be unchurched or dechurched in a way that isn't pushy or unhelpful. It's sometimes tough to reach demographics that aren't specifically looking for faith resources, but MOPS helps care for larger needs and in turn, can present Jesus to women in that way.
I have been involved in MOPS on and off since my first baby was 4 months old -- and certainly gotten a lot of out of the fellowship and community it provided me!

Powerful women doing powerful things!

This is a podcast that I’ll come back to for ideas and inspiration. The women Ericka interviews are great role models! And Ericka herself is a comfortable, energetic host who covers modern faith and culture concerns with ease.
