Ep. 212: Traditional Chinese Medicine explains period blood clots, with guest Emily Keuntz, M.S., L.Ac.

Let's talk about period blood clots. Are they normal? A problem? Why doesn't your OBGYN seem to know what to do with them? As a Certified FertilityCare Practitioner, I get these questions a lot. Western medicine doesn't have a lot to offer, though. So, what about eastern medicine? Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has long focused on the quality of menstruation and has developed patterns related to period clots. This episode with licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, Emily Kuentz, explains this eastern perspective and how it can provide resources to women struggling with blood clots. In this episode, we explore: ⭐️ The five reasons women may have period clots, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine ⭐️ The eastern vs western explanations for period clots ⭐️ One surprising thing you can start doing to potentially help blood clots like this NOTE: This episode is appropriate for all audiences. GUEST BIO: Emily Kuentz, M.S., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM)®, Dipl. C.H. (NCCAOM)® is a licensed Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist, Fertility Coach, and owner of Trinity Oak Acupuncture. Emily specializes in Women’s Health, including hormonal imbalances, PMS, infertility, IVF and IUI support, endometriosis, PCOS, and pregnancy care. Ep. 211: Bethany's "One & Done" Endo Surgery for RPL with RESTORE Endometriosis (Client Story)

After repeated pregnancy losses without answers, and trying every natural remedy from supplements to diet to cleanses, Bethany went in search of new options. She wanted the best of the best, but where could she even begin looking? It was her husband that first suggested, "Maybe we should start by addressing your period pain. That isn't normal." (Way to go, husband!) That conversation led her to working with Dr. Patrick Yeung at Restore Endo Clinic and finally getting the dignified care--and treatment--she has long deserved. Hear Bethany's story and be sure to go back to listen to Dr. Yeung himself share about his clinic and his technique. NOTE: This episode does discuss early pregnancy loss. Ep. 210: What to Look for in an Endometriosis Surgeon for a "One and Done" Surgery, with Dr. Patrick Yeung

New research says that 50% of women who have infertility but no painful periods have endometriosis. Those with painful periods and infertility are *90%* likely to have it. But diagnosis isn't always the hardest part. Many physicians will say they can treat it, but very few have the specialization needed to provide a "one and done" surgery, leaving many women with only temporary symptom relief, years of endo suppression medications, and the need for repeat surgeries. Is there a different way? YES. Dr. Patrick Yeung shares the key things to look for in an endometriosis specialist to help you find someone who can provide you with high quality care that doesn't require IVF for pregnancy or suppression medications for pain.  NOTE: This episode is appropriate for most audiences and does use the term sexual functioning. GUEST BIO: Dr. Patrick Yeung Jr. is Fellowship-trained in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and spent most of his career in academics - at Duke University and still as Adjunct Professor at Saint Louis University, for 15 years, almost 4,000 cases, with multiple landmark publications. He founded the RESTORE Center for Endometriosis to pay forward what benefitted his own wife in relieving debilitating pain and leading to recurring natural fertility, and to enter the conversation among Centers of Endometriosis as the only Center dedicated to removing endometriosis and optimizing the anatomy that does not rely on IVF or post-operative hormonal suppression SHOW NOTES:  Journal article: https://rrmjournal.org/index.php/jrrm/article/view/13/17 Ep. 10: Endometriosis 101 Ep. 139: Preventing scarring, adhesions, and repeat endometriosis surgery, with Dr. Naomi Whittaker Ep. 190: Unblocking Fallopian Tubes for Natural Conception with Dr. Naomi Whittaker Send a text Support the show Other great ways to connect with Woven Natural Fertility Care: Learn the Creighton Model System with us! Ep. 209: The Meaning of Sex for Singles and Married Couples, with Dr. Juli Slattery

Does the Bible say anything more about sex than "thou shalt not"? From married couples using natural family planning or struggling with infertility to single women noticing elevated estrogen and sexual desire around ovulation, it's worth it to explore what role sex could play in our lives not only physically but spiritually. Today, Dr. Juli Slattery from Authentic Intimacy joins Caitlin to talk about these things and describe the beautiful narrative around sex laid out for us in Scripture. Ep. 208: Unexplained Secondary Infertility Didn't Sit Right With Her, So She Got Answers. Client Story: Magan

When Magan and her husband weren't conceiving easily like they did with their first, she did everything in her power to see change. She worked with a chiropractor, tried Whole30, used supplements, and met with her local OB. One year later, nothing had changed. She wanted answers quick, but when she read about NaProTechnology and a restorative approach to reproductive health issues, she decided to give it a try. From there, she learned more about herself than she ever thought she would and found a new motivation and peace that she didn't think possible. She was pretty pleased with the outcome, too. I know you'll enjoy hearing the honest story of Magan's journey with secondary infertility. NOTE: This episode is appropriate for most audiences, but does include discussion of intercourse. Ep. 206: Am I Doing Too Much? Is It Time to Stop? How Can I Know?

When it comes to reproductive health, it can feel like there's always "one more thing" that you can do or try. It can feel exhausting. How much is too much? How do you know when it's time to stop? These are valid questions to ask! But as you do, there are some other factors to first consider. - Are all the things I'm doing actually moving me toward my goal? Is there another way? An alternative approach? - How can I advocate for myself so I don't have to do a long list of things that don't feel right for me? - Is God telling me to stop or just inviting me to rest? In this episode, Caitlin tackles these and more to help you navigate those moments when you are trying to decide whether or not you're DONE. We hope it's helpful!
