So tired of pastors who think they know more than Synodical authorities
I forgot why I haven’t listened to this podcast in a while, & I chose 03/02/2022, re: dealing with enemies, to check it out again. Within minutes i was reminded why I have chosen Issues Etc.,The Word of the Lord Endures Forever, Steadfast Lutherans.org., & Gottesdienst, over ANYTHING from KFUO. Those podcasts bring us Christ, alone. This one brings you a sinful human pastor whining & complaining about Lent, & the somber tone of Lent, & how agonizingly too long Kent lasts for him. Then he exalts himself by explaining how much more attuned he is to the joy of the Lord & how much more he knows & comprehends church history & how to apply it to our modern day observance of Lent, than all the current authorities of the church. I don’t know what happens after that because I stopped listening. I wish our pastors could model understanding of Luther’s explanation of the 4th commandment for us a bit better, and I wish the Lutherans in our Synod who don’t want to be Lutherans would own up to it honestly and leave the synod and maybe go join the ELCA or the Methodists or some thing. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Just be who you say who you are because I’m tired of being tricked. Lisa
