After losing my grandpa, I found myself facing the regret of a relationship I can no longer change and questioning family dynamics I accepted as a child without ever thinking to question them. But somewhere in the middle of that loss, an unexpected door opened. In this episode, I’m sharing how losing my grandpa led me back to my Aunt Kathy, the years we lost, and what I’m learning about giving myself permission to decide who I love, who I have a relationship with, and what I choose to believe.

In this episode of Wrong Number, I’m talking about the complicated emotions that can exist alongside some of life’s happiest moments, grieving relationships that are still very much alive, and learning that wishing something were different doesn’t mean you wish you made a different decision. Sometimes there’s an empty chair in our story. Maybe healing isn’t about pretending it isn’t there but learning not to let it become the entire room.
