    According to the World Health Organization, 1 in 6 people worldwide, experience infertility.  And while this is traditionally considered a “Woman’s Problem” - Approximately one third of infertility cases are attributed to male partner, one-third to female, and one third to a combination of both.   With the focus of this issue solely on women’s bodies and perspectives, it often leaves men unable to speak about their own infertility and the impact to has on their lives. Between social stigma and insufficient research - the society has somehow isolated the literal other half of what it takes to have a baby, putting unfair pressure on women - another double standard, right up there with the lack of male birth control. ________________________________ In this episode of my guests & good friends, Ben and Dana opened up to me about their own difficult and emotional journey to starting a family. Following months of trying, with no success, the couple decided to seek medical guidance in hopes of getting answers.     5. Hyper-Nemesis

    In this episode my guest, Ileana Lopez, shares her experience of dealing with a highly undiagnosed pregnancy condition knows as Hyperemesis Gravidarum or HG. As a mother of 3, Ileana had to go through this three times, each time being worse than the previous. Best described as "morning sickness times a thousand" the condition can last the entire length of the pregnancy, causing debilitating level of nausea, sickness, and general discomfort. At this time, there are no known cures.

    2. The Lucky Ones with Suzette Arce

    In this episode my guest and friend, Suzette Arce, shares the story of delivering her son at 26 weeks. She speaks in depth about the emotional and physical toll this took on her and her family. From learning of the possibility of his early arrival, to being rushed to the hospital to remain on bedrest for a month, and the 100 days her son spent in the NICU before being released. Suzette embarked on the journey of motherhood in her late 30s, after meeting her husband Eduardo. While, she had no issues conceiving, her pregnancy was considered high risk due to a shortened cervix. Professionally, Suzette is a data analyst for a telecommunications company.

Sabrina, 36, obtained her Master Degree in Science of Mental Health in 2019, and currently runs her own private practice. In her personal life, Sabrina is a mama of two children, a dedicated wife, sister, friend... just one of those bad ass woman that you look at and go "How does she do it all?" In this candid conversation, Sabrina opens up about the challenges of her own journey through motherhood, her four pregnancies - two successful and two that ended in miscarriages, and the unfathomable emotional roller coaster of these experiences.
