Wyrd from the Realm

I’m a huge fan of SJM and her author friends. The way WFTR summarizes the plot lines and emphasizes key points without actually spoiling future books makes it clear that they enjoy the books and characters as much ch as I do. Really hoping that the show continues! I need more!

Don’t even listen to episode one if you haven’t read the whole series. First off they let a huge spoiler and then say “oh I just said that, oh well, I don’t care” and didn’t edit it out! Luckily I already knew that one. I haven’t read Kingdom of Ash so I thought I was safe to listen to a book 1 recap and then they spoil a returning character for the final book that I would have enjoyed being surprised about. Needless to say I turned it off. Maybe I’ll come back after I finish the last book but now I’m afraid they’ll ruin Crescent City for me because I also had to fast forward really quick when they’d mention that.

In the begging of their first podcast they said they would try to remain spoiler free as much as possible but would let us know at the end when they will talk more about spoilers. However, I am only halfway through the series and just wanted to deep dive into the first book and go as I read, but now I know who lives, twists of peoples fate, love interests, and important information. They like to point out characters who will live or who are important later on especially in later books. They also point out information or important events before it happens. I was spoiled on a lot of suspicions I had and also characters who I thought would die or not die. However, if that’s not important to you, I like their banter and conversation. I think they are really well versed in the SJM universe and talk a lot about important things and point things out! I would maybe recommend listening kn your reread.

I love SJM and I love this podcast! It’s such a fun way to revisit our favorite worlds. I don’t always have time for a full reread so this is such a great way to re live all the highlights in the series, as well as deep dive and further understand the world.
