The Toronto based songwriter, who recently released her third album ‘i don't have to do anything.’ joined us before her full-band set at The Piston bar a few weeks, to talk about her new album, songwriting, Elliott Smith, supporting the band Pony live, OCD and drawing inspiration from Toronto foxes for her breakthrough single Mr. Fox!     This week, we introduce you to Trashwyre, a new Toronto four-piece band bringing the lo-fi, rebellious electro-clash to punk rock. Boasting 'shambolic', exciting live shows with a steadily growing local audience, we are joined by frontman, singer and guitarist Gabe Vitale to talk about the band's unusual origins, writing and influences, dumpster diving for guitars and their upcoming debut EP.     Yellow Brit Road: Racing Mount Pleasant live in Toronto

    Seven-piece American indie rock, post rock band Racing Mount Pleasant walk an easy line from Black Country, New Road to the Mountain Goats, Radiohead to Broken Social Scene, Sigur Rós to Pavement. They draw you into their immersive musical world of complex, sometimes heavily contrasting themes: simple joy and catharsis rides atop intricate instrumental arrangements and time signatures, softer sounds build up to climactic crescendos, placeably Gen Z themes are sung over timeless music, as 300 of us descended into a hot, hot Garrison on the coldest day of the year so far. I went down to the Garrison with Toronto photographer Owen Forbes, friend of the show and occasional fellow-concert reviewer, on Tuesday, 20 January to catch an exceptional set by Racing Mount Pleasant.
