We also bring you live highlights from Reading festival, Lauren phones in from Leeds fest to bring us the boots on the ground report and some of her favourite acts at the festivals this year, and we are joined by Brendan McCarney, the artistic director and co-founder of Second Summer Festival, a must-attend fest for anyone that enjoys the artists we play and talk about on this show.     This week on the Yellow Brit Road, we're rested and back from Toronto Folk Festival, so I have to tell you all about the best music I caught over on Ward's Island last weekend! We also review Getdown Services' new album Massive Champion, look ahead to Reading Festival, one of the biggest moments of the UK music summer, and celebrate New Order's 2001 album Get Ready, which turned 25 on Thursday. We are also joined by Willie Stratton, frontman of Nova Scotian blues and punk trio The Boojums, who I caught up with after their show in Toronto supporting The Bug Club recently.     Yellow Brit Road: Jim E. Brown Interview!

    He was born a day before 9/11. He is an alcoholic, a diabetic with a string of chronic conditions, anxiety and a sense of civic activism in his native Manchester, he's only 19 and he's taken the world by storm. Meet Jim E. Brown, the internet's new favourite sad English teenager. He likes 3 bands: Coldplay, Phish and Kraftwerk, and the world has been drawn to his downbeat post punk music, singing about the pains of his everyday life. We join him far from home in Toronto, Canada, for a little chat about the Beatles, sports, alcohol and his new album Dirt. He also answers some questions from you, the fans!     Good afternoon, Canada! The Yellow Brit Road is now on your airwaves in broad daylight: 1 in the afternoon! Join us for our first daytime show, as we throwback to Razorlight's huge 2006 album, which turned 20 last week. We also review Muse's huge comeback album, The Wow! Signal, and seeing them live last week, when they brought their unique live spectacle to Toronto and Quebec City. Also, I managed to get last-minute Angine de Poitrine tickets, and I was delighted with what I witnessed. So of course you'll hear all about it. In the mood for more live music?
