Casual conversations about yoga philosophy, tradition, and practice with two Los Angeles based yoga teachers.
What are Purusha and Prakriti?
Purusha and Prakriti are two broad concepts in yoga philosophy. The terms are used slightly differently in a Classical Yoga point of view than in the Tantric Philosophy point of view. Neither is right or wrong. Phoebe and Keric compare the two different views to two different maps. Either map can get you to where you want to go. But each map looks a little different.
What is the Shiva Nataraja?
What is the Shiva Nataraja? A quick image search on this topic will return dozens of images of bronze colored statues in multitude of different sizes, shades, and variations. What is Tantra?
You may have heard the words "tantra" or "tantric practices" mentioned in pop-culture and/or by a few celebrities. Clearing the Need to Know
While these traditions are powerful and deep, it is very easy for me to think, “Oh, I already know this.” And...after listening to this podcast for a few weeks now, I have come to realize once again (and I’m sure I will arrive at this place again in the future) that I am still a student. While I might be the one guiding a class of adults as well as children on a given day, the Teacher is also always learning from their Student(s).
This podcast has been an amazing reminder of humility and grace. Reminding me to slow down enough to be intentional with my actions, words, and why I choose to teach at all. Thank you both for taking the time, for yourselves and for the rest of us.
This podcast makes for awesome entertainment as I walk around Los Angeles, and your listening to your words, again, reminds me to slow down, with each step.
These folks offer great knowledge and thought provoking conversation.
thank you both
Amazing yoga podcast
For the past year, I have been looking for some sort of podcast that talks about yoga philosophy, but also been looking for a yoga podcast from the perspective of Anusara yoga instructors. This podcast is exactly what I’ve been wanting to listen to. This podcast helps me to understand yoga concepts more, dive back into my teacher training notes and thoughts, and also to plan classes.
