    Grace to Grace Part I

    He swore he'd never touch it. Then he woke up one day smack in the middle of it. This week Gina sits down with her oldest brother Troy for the half of the story where, as she puts it, the enemy thought he had won. Troy got saved at Lawtey during a real revival. He surrendered to preach six months later and went off to Bible college. And then he slipped away quietly, still showing up to church the entire time, because his relationship with God had never gone past the surface. He says he could preach thirty minutes on Isaiah 43 and never have lived a line of it. So when the revival ended, he had nothing to stand on. Divorce, isolation and depression pushed him toward the one drug that made him feel anything positive, and then toward suicidal thinking. Gina tells her side too, and it's the part a lot of families will recognize. The day she and Ronnie broke a window because she was sure she'd find him dead. The counselor who gave her a sentence she didn't want to hear: you're the problem, your family is enabling him, and you are not God. Her flesh rose up at that. Then the Holy Spirit asked which one she was going to cater to, her pride or the truth. And then there's the prayer she carried quietly for years and never expected to say out loud. It ends with Troy dropping everything he owned into a dumpster and walking into Set Free with one bag of clothes and a pillow.     Faith in the Fire: Walking Through Childhood Cancer Part II

    Science said one thing. God said another. The doctors handed them a 15-month plan. Forty-six weeks of chemo, six weeks of radiation, and a long list of complications to brace for. A year later, Ciarra can tell you Jackson walked through almost none of it. His own care team calls him the poster child for the treatment plan. Part 2 is where she traces the provision, and honestly, the details are the best part. There was a house they were about to buy on emotion instead of God's timing, and the prayer Logan prayed over it: Lord, if this isn't Your will, don't just close the door, slam it shut. It appraised 75,000 dollars under asking. Their realtor had never seen anything like it. What God actually had was better. A family friend handed them a fully furnished lake home with a sandy yard, which happened to be the one thing Jackson needed, because he couldn't play in dirt with his port. Nobody thought to ask for that. God thought of it anyway. Then groceries on the doorstep. Dinners. A Christmas the family was far too tired to make happen. A dinosaur on top of a tree that nobody knew was significant until Jackson looked up. A once-in-a-lifetime job for Logan twenty minutes from home. Ciarra's honest about the parts nobody puts on a prayer card, too. Fear that runs straight to the worst outcome. Protecting a marriage while you're in survival mode.     God was already there before anybody knew anything was wrong. Ciarra Wilson is 25, married to Logan, and mom to a three and a half year old named Jackson. In Part 1 she walks Gina back through everything that led up to his diagnosis, and the whole thing reads like God going first. She was home that day instead of at school. Jackson was in a diaper instead of the potty. And she'd just finished the pediatrics semester of nursing school, so the second she saw it, she knew it wasn't normal. None of that was luck. There's more of it, too. A traumatic birth where Jackson came out blue and wasn't breathing. An asthma diagnosis at 15 months that made Wolfson's familiar ground long before they ever needed it to be. A hospital stay on his second birthday, the first time this family ever asked publicly for prayer, and he was completely well inside of 30 minutes. Gina shares her own story too, the night a mother's intuition saved her newborn son. Both of these women got sent home once and went back anyway. Both times it mattered.     You or Him Part 2

    So what will you do WITH Him? Part 1 asked whether the year behind you was you or Him. Part 2 is where Gina and KK answer it, and the answer has less to do with doing more and more to do with being close. They talk about the version of faith where we shrink God down and put Him in a little box at our level, a friend we call when something breaks. That's not the relationship He offered. They get honest about the empty cup problem too. You can't pour out what you were never filled with, and a lot of us have been serving on fumes and calling it faithfulness. And there's the challenge that stings a little: we've all been waiting on a word from God while the Bible sits closed on the nightstand. He already gave you sixty-six books. Then the closing thought. We love to quote "be still," and we almost never actually do it. Stillness is where He finally gets a word in. "Be still, and know that I am God."     You or Him Part 1

    Was it you, or was it Him? That's the question Gina and KK sit with in Part 1 of this two-part conversation. By February, most resolutions are already collecting dust. So instead of another list of goals, they look back honestly at the year behind them and ask who was actually running it. This one gets vulnerable. Gina opens up about the season when ministry stopped feeling like a calling and started feeling like a weight, heavy enough that she had to step back and resign.     Prayer, Part 2

    We ran out of time on the last episode, so Gina and Nana Beth picked the conversation right back up. This one goes deeper. The disciples walked with Jesus every single day and still asked Him, "Lord, teach us to pray." Not how to pray. Just teach us to pray. If they needed it that badly, how much more do we? In this episode Gina and Nana Beth talk about rejoicing before you ask, bringing a praise instead of a prayer request, and going back to give God the glory once He answers.
