    #88 - Everything is Perfect

    What if instead of buying into all our negativity - what if we could believe everything - even our suffering, our negative thoughts and emotions - are perfect. Crazy, right? Especially considering that a new war - filled with injustice and suffering to so many - just broke out in this world of ours. But what's God's take on this? What does He tell us He'll do if we just abide and trust in Him and His plans? He tells us that everything, ALL things, every detail of our human life works together for our good. Maybe not so crazy, huh? Now we have to understand this good is on God's time.  It might not be today, tomorrow or even this lifetime. But when we open our minds to this idea, we can see how He's done it time and time again even in situations that seemed absolutely hopeless or horrific - way worse than anything I’ve gone through. Here's my experience the more I've opened my mind to this idea.  The more - not less - everything in my very messy world makes sense to me. And I think that's evidence of the perfect plan God has for me - and I can't wait to see where His plan continues to take me, take you, and the rest of our amazing world.     #87 - Success Comes in Small Steps

    Think back to all the successes you've experienced in your life.  Can you clearly see what created that success? Usually we just remember the end result and forget the details of our journey to get there. I'm confident when you break it down, here's what you'll find - it was fueled by a series of small steps and actions. The cumulative power in those small steps and actions were the driving forces behind your ultimate success. Yet in our weight loss journeys we're so quick to dismiss the small, simple and doable steps.  Instead our brain tricks us into believing we have to do all the hard things - and we have to start doing them immediately. And that's exactly what gets us stuck and makes us quit. So if you've already quit your New Year's diet - or didn't even start one because you didn't want to fail again - here's the best thing you can do. Get back up in the simplest and easiest way. Get back up by taking the one small step you can commit to today - and don't do anything else until you're willing to do it.     #86 - When Your New Year’s Diet Fails

    Here are some things diets never teach us. How to keep going when our initial excitement and motivation goes away (and I probably don't have to tell you this - IT WILL). How we keep up with ALL the things they tell us to do...ESPECIALLY on our most difficult days. You know the days your kid's sick at home, the dog pukes on the floor, the boss is waiting on your report and your husband's asking you when dinner's going to be ready. Diet's don't teach us that - instead they tell us all the things we should be doing - and then tell us to try harder and try to be more positive when we don't. SPOILER ALERT:  This doesn't work! They tell you they have the perfect recipe for you to lose weight fast but they're missing the most essential ingredients. And that's why we start and stop them over and over again. In fact most New Year's diets don't even make it past the first month.     #85 - Self-Talk Problems

    If I asked you how you're really speaking to yourself, could you tell me? Your most powerful self-talk is subtle. And that's what makes it so powerful.  It's having a big impact on our lives - and we don't even know it. Most of us have self-talk that sounds something like this when it comes to losing weight. You can't do this.  This is too hard.  I'm too busy.  I'm so confused. Here's the problem, God designed our brain to respond to the commands it hears most frequently. So your brain focuses on all the things that prove your self-talk true. Why you can't do this.  Why it's too hard.  Why you're too busy.  Why you're so confused. Learn 3 big things about your self-talk... 3 steps to hear yours more clearly. How it's impacting your life. How you can start changing it to work for you. Self-talk.  We all have it.  It's impact is real. So tune into it and own it.  God gives us the power to do that. Then you can make it start working for you rather than against you. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.  Ephesians 4:23

    #84 - 5 Life-Changing Truths

    Have you ever heard the saying - you don't know what you don't know? Well that saying would accurately describe me and these 5 life-changing truths just a handful of years ago. Not only did I not know them, I also wasn't actively applying them. And that led me to a life filled with much pain, frustration and heartbreak. So today I want to share these with you to help you avoid that in your life. Maybe - unlike me - you'll be familiar with these truths for our human life.  Maybe you will see how you are actively applying them in your life.     #83 - What's Your Word?

    Want more of something in your life? There's nothing more powerful than changing where your brain is focused and what is occupying it’s attention. There are different ways you can do that, but here's a simple one I started using a couple years ago. Choose your word - and then focus on it. Practice thinking about it, fixing your attention on it - and then you'll see your actions follow your brain's lead. So what do you want more of this year? Health, Love, Growth, Belief, Grace, Success, God? All of those and more are available to you -- but the path there always starts with shifting your mentality. So join me to learn how you can use this simple strategy to bring more of what you want into your life. Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Romans 12:2

    #82 - Live Intentionally in 2022

    If I were a genie who could grant you one thing, do you know what it would be? No -- it wouldn't be to make you rich, skinny or any more beautiful than you already are -- it would be to live your life with more intention. Seriously??? Probably sums up what you're thinking right now. Here's why - because living with more intention is how we turn the amazing things possible for our life into our reality. It's how we cut out all the unimportant distractions constantly demanding our attention. It's how we focus on our deepest desires -- the things most important to us -- rather than those that only pretend to be important in the moment. It's how we live a life filled with purpose, meaning and true satisfaction. It's how we live our most abundant human life - the life that God calls us to live. So how can you do this (since unfortunately I'm not a genie)? Well here's the great news. It all starts with you simply spending some intentional time thinking about what you want in your life. So join me today to learn exactly how I do this in my life and how you can do the same. Make 2022 the year you start living with more intention and all the incredible things that leads to. So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
