Although performing stand-up comedy was what initially united Eliot, Brent, and H. Alan over 10 years ago, it’s their openness (and sense of humor) about feeling totally lost and disconnected from the gay community that’s truly bonded them. On YMIW, Eliot, Brent and H. Alan get down and dirty, exploring the good, bad, and ugly tropes of contemporary gay life, often the stuff that no one -- especially straight people -- discuss for fear of being labeled homophobic. (Don’t worry. They’ll do that for you.) Each episode features a special guest -- comedians, humorists, musicians, influencers, film/TV writers, journalists, politicians, etc. - as well as allies, enemies, and acquaintances from all backgrounds and professions, not just those in the public eye. And as white, urban-dwelling gay dudes in their thirties, Eliot, Brent and H. Alan check their own privilege at the door, eager to instead explore what life looks for those not afforded the same concessions.

    John Hartman

    John Hartman

    What was Brent James Sullivan REALLY like in college? Comedian, screenwriter and fellow "Harvard of the midwest" University of Michigan alumni John Hartman joins the guys to reminisce. Plus, just how cheeky is it for gay men to hijack the #ProudBoys hashtag with pictures of dude-on-dude romance? Can we roll our eyes yet? And Brent, Eliot and H. Alan bring you up to date on how they're handling COVID more than six months into the pandemic.

    Thorgy Thor

    Thorgy Thor

    Although "infectious" might not be the best word to use these days, it certainly applies to RuPaul's Drag Race royalty Thorgy Thor, who joins the guys from New York, where -- of all things -- he's been playing Mr. Mom to a two-year-old since the pandemic hit. Also, Brent, Eliot and H. Alan celebrate International Lesbian Day with a tribute to their faves including QUEEN Sandy Toksvig (WE STAN). And is Mike Pence so homophobic that he's inevitably gay? Or is he just a horrible person? Because he is DEFINITELY a horrible, horrible person.

    @PetShopBoy

    @PetShopBoy

    Brent, Eliot and H. Alan chat with Brandon Graeter, better known as meme king and Instagram storyteller @petshopboy who hosts his own podcast The B List. Then, the guys talk about Eric Trump's including HIMSELF as part of the LGBTQ community, which would have made for some VERY niche fan fiction. And later, the guys imagine "a post-Chandler world" where Chandler on Friends was gay. Could it BE any more obvious?

    Beth Stelling

    Beth Stelling

    Comedian and "Girl Daddy" Beth Stelling joins the guys to talk about her new HBO Max special...until she's derailed by the pod's first Zoom bomb! And later, is it really a big deal for a teacher to put up a rainbow flag in her classroom? Plus, Brent, Eliot and H. Alan list the hottest politicians, including Brent's low-key crush on Dick Cheney's "interesting face."

    Isaac Mizrahi

    Isaac Mizrahi, iconic fashion designer and "King of the Jews," joins Brent, Eliot and H. Alan to talk about wigs vs. wiglets, 90's supermodels and the grueling schedule of being a QVC host. And later, the guys talk about a Tunisian beauty influencer who loves gays but hates gay sex -- HOW DARE SHE! And also, isn't TikTok literally just America's Funniest Home Videos?

    Pat Regan

    Pat Regan

    Pat Regan of Seek Treatment joins the guys to talk about the zen/chaos of Two Dots, gay boy worship of female elementary school teachers, and the legendary lacrosse players of Long Island. Brent, Eliot, and H. Alan also talk about the official fire hazard of gender reveal parties. And they revisit GayBlade, a cult video game from the early 90's in which you went to battle with all things homophobic, which, albeit very cool, is no Dream Daddy.

Love A New Perspective

As a cis straight woman, I know I have plenty to learn the queer experience. This is one of the many avenues I get to explore that through with the perfect mix of insight and humor. I came in knowing Elliot and am now obsessed with all three hosts! Thanks y’all!
