    Wild generates offense, Cavs can't solve Vancouver FC

    We recap this weekend's action, including the Calgary Wild's 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Rise. Serita Thurton opened her account with the Wild and Meggie Dougherty Howard scored another on a brilliant free kick.  We also review Cavalry FC's 0-0 draw vs Vancouver FC.     Can the Wild stop their 3 game losing streak this weekend?

    Our interview is with Calgary Wild midfielder Jenaya Robertson. We talk about her career, how this season with the Wild is going and about an unusual injury she experienced as a teenager. Cavalry FC bowed out of the Canadian Championship with a loss to Vancouver FC on penalty kicks. We talk about this match and also preview the rematch in Vancouver on Sunday evening. The Sunday match is part of the regular CPL schedule. The Calgary Wild lost an early week battle in Halifax against the Tides. They are now on a 3 game losing skid.     Wild and Cavs in early week action and Kaylee Hunter interview

    Both of Calgary's pro clubs are back from their breaks.  The Calgary Wild are in Halifax to play the Tides on Monday while Cavalry FC plays Vancouver FC on Tuesday at Spruce Meadows.  The Cavs have a chance to advance to the next round of the Canadian Championship as they are currently tied with Vancouver 1-1 and the aggregate score will determine who advances. Our interview is with AFC Toronto forward Kaylee Hunter. Over the last couple of years, we've followed her career closely.  She starred with Blizzard for half a season in the 2023 League One Alberta season. After that she went to the Whitecaps Academy and has spent time with Canadian national youth teams.  Now she has signed with AFC Toronto and has been impressive in her first pro season.  We talk about her career thus far, how she decided to sign with Toronto and what it's like to be the youngest player on her team. We also have some League One Alberta game reviews and previews. We also talk about Bim Pepple's move to Plymouth Argyle.     Wild mid-season report card and Tofa Fakunle interview

    We review Cavalry's match vs Ottawa on Saturday afternoon at Spruce Meadows. This match is a chance for the Cavs to make up some ground against the team at the top of the table. The Calgary Wild are on international break. We talk about the season thus far and give our assessments of what has worked and what hasn't. Our interview this week is with Cavalry assistant GM Tofa Fakunle. Tofa started with the Cavs as a player. A call from Tommy Wheeldon Jr brought him into the Cavs front office where he has worked his way up to being Tommy's right hand man.     Cavalry now 10 games unbeaten, Wild limps into international break

    We recap Cavalry's win vs Pacific. The match had to be rescheduled because of torrential rain, but it ultimately ended as expected with the Cavs picking up three points. The Calgary Wild go into the international break after suffering another loss. They were defeated by the Ottawa Rapid 3-1. We discuss the match and whether having a break right now will help the club get back on track. We review the full slate of League One Alberta matches where there were goals aplently on the men's side this week.     Four points out of six in Halifax ain't too bad

    In our weekend recap episode we talk about the Calgary Wild's match vs AFC Toronto and Cavalry FC's game vs HFX Wanderers.  The Wild's match was a bit frustrating and ended in a loss. Cavalry is likely somewhat satisfied with the draw and getting 4 out of 6 points in their two visits to Halifax this season. We also review matches from League One Alberta and preview the matches scheduled for Tuesday. Our final segment gives an update about a former Cavalry player.
