Zero to Well-Read

This podcast is definitely a cross between a book club and Lit class. The discussions are insightful, respectful, and thought provoking. It is a great way to revisit books I have already read. I feel smarter at the end of each discussion. I love getting book recommendations for similar books, and I am motivated to read the other books in unplayed episodes. This podcast is just what I needed.

I’ve really enjoyed listening to the podcast after I’ve read the books. It gives me such a deeper appreciation and understanding! I just taught The Old Man and the Sea in a 9th grade class and the podcast helped immensely!

1984 is still the most relevant book of our time. I haven’t read it since high school, points directly to the Covid era shutdowns and power grab of leftist ideology. Remember when they shut down the churches schools and businesses. Remember the forced vacations. Remember the cancelling of individuals who dissented. Remember getting arrested for walking on the beach , or being forced into our homes and neighbors snitching on each other. Remember the BLM riots and the burning of cities, and the censorship, and the masking and the six- foot radius, the forced compliance in thought and action, the rigged election, the fake insurrection, brainwashing by media, social media, even academia and big business, and on and on and on… 2+2 =5 reminds us of how we are now forced to believe there are 19 genders. Wow!!! We should never forget these lunatics are just a rigged election away, and that freedom must be won and re-won probably with every generation.

I’ll admit my reading over the past few years has been mostly fluff. I have so enjoyed Rebecca and Jeff’s discussions of these important works that I have started to reach for great books again. Never fear, they are here for occasional fluff (hey Twilight!). But I find myself holding episodes until I read the book. Their discussion is so approachable and fun, I’m sure you’ll feel the same. Bravo to this team!
