  2. Bek Condello Was Born Into A Cult. Escaping Was The Easy Part

Bek Condello Was Born Into A Cult. Escaping Was The Easy Part

Bek Condello didn't choose the world she was born into. Raised inside the Geelong Revival Centre, a church she now describes as a cult, every aspect of her life was decided for her — what she believed, who she could trust, who she could marry, what she wore, and what would happen if she ever left. By the time she was an adult, she had never kissed anyone, never questioned the rules she'd grown up with, and genuinely believed the outside world was dangerous. In this conversation with Kate Langbroek, Bek explains why leaving wasn't the hardest part. The real challenge came afterwards: rebuilding an identity from scratch, grieving the parents she feels the cult stole from her, navigating a marriage that was never really her choice, and learning to trust her own instincts after a lifetime of being told not to. Bek also speaks candidly about the lasting impact of growing up in an environment where sex was framed as shameful, revealing how it contributed to a diagnosis of vaginismus after her wedding and the profound effect it had on her first marriage. This isn't simply a story about escaping a cult. It's about what happens when everything you've ever believed is stripped away, and you're left to answer one terrifying question: who are you when you've never been allowed to decide for yourself? 3. I Am Different, But No Less: Accepting Your Disability

    1d ago ·  Video

I Am Different, But No Less: Accepting Your Disability

Hunter talks to three people who are living with disabilities, and how it’s effected them. Meet this episode's strangers: -Gabriella was diagnosed with profound hearing loss when she was a baby. She received cochlear implants, and after attending a preschool for the deaf, she transitioned to “mainstream” schools where most people didn’t realize she was deaf. To this day, she takes her implants off when she wants to feel grounded and at peace. Now, as an adult, she wouldn’t choose to be any other way. -Anthony was extremely offended when RFK Jr. made hurtful remarks towards people with autism. Anthony was diagnosed with autism at age three and has spent a lifetime learning to cope with it. He finds love and support from his mother, who has modeled behavior and advocated for him. Anthony emphasizes that no one can do life entirely alone, and people like his mother can help him push through challenges. -Nathalia has visible scars on her face that made her feel like an outcast growing up. When she was young she experienced bullying and feelings of low self worth. But one day she was told by a boy she had a crush on that if it weren’t for her scars she wouldn’t be so pretty, and it changed the way she felt about herself. Today she lives a normal, fruitful life and accepts her scars as part of herself. Sergio Pérez: What Red Bull Never Revealed About My Shock Exit (E422)

Over 15 seasons, Cadillac F1 driver Sergio 'Checo' Pérez has established himself as one of the most experienced drivers on the grid, earning 6 Grand Prix victories and finishing 2nd in the 2023 World Championship. Sergio walked into Red Bull Racing in 2021 knowing the team was built around Max Verstappen, and was told early on that they operated with a clear number one driver structure. He spent four years in one of the most demanding seats in Formula 1, navigating a final period he describes as increasingly difficult. In this episode, Sergio exposes the politics of the paddock to share the raw truth of his Formula 1 career. He opens up about the brutal reality of the Red Bull garage, the betrayal of losing his seat days before his historic victory at Sakhir, and how a lonely childhood living in a German truck-stop motel built his unbreakable mindset. Sergio also reflects on his next chapter with Cadillac, the lessons he’s taken from his time in F1, and the importance of learning to enjoy the journey while you’re in it. This is a powerful conversation about resilience, self-belief, and performing under relentless pressure. How to Become an Organized Person (Even If You've Never Been One)

How to become an organized person, even if you've never felt like one in your life, that's what today's conversation is about. I brought on Coach Tracy Hoth, a certified life and organizing coach and host of the top 1% Organized Coach Podcast, because something she said on her own show stopped me in my tracks. We get into why you can't outperform your identity, how one of her clients went from thinking she was a total mess to sorting five pieces of paper a day and finishing an entire house of paperwork, and the exact thought shift Tracy uses when negative self-talk takes over mid-project. If you've ever told yourself you're just not an organized person, I think you're going to love this one. 9. Healing Family Estrangement: What To Say, And What Never to Say.

Healing Family Estrangement: What To Say, And What Never to Say.

Between 10 and 15 percent of mothers and 1 in 4 fathers are currently estranged from a child. If those numbers feel shocking, the harder truth might be this: most of the moves parents instinctively make once estrangement begins are the exact moves that keep the door shut. Dr. Joshua Coleman has spent more than four decades as a practicing psychologist and is a Senior Fellow with the Council on Contemporary Families. His own daughter once cut off contact with him. That experience, and everything he has learned since, shaped his work helping families find their way back to each other. He is one of the most trusted voices in the country on family estrangement and reconciliation. In this conversation, you will explore: Why estrangement rates are at historically high levels and what massive cultural shifts are driving themThe five defensive moves parents make that almost always make things worse, including why fighting for fairness is the most damaging trap of allWhat a genuinely healing apology actually sounds like, and why most apologies miss the mark entirelyWhy radical acceptance and hope are not opposites, and how to hold both at the same timeHow the principles of repair transfer to sibling estrangements and to grandparents cut off from grandchildren If someone you love has pulled away and you cannot figure out why, or if you are the one who has needed distance and are wondering what repair could look like, this is the conversation for it. Gambling Addiction: Am I Addicted or Just on a Losing Streak?

Are you or someone you love secretly struggling with a gambling problem? Discover how modern apps trap your mind and how to break the cycle. In this episode of the Recoverable Podcast, host Terry Maguire sits down with expert psychologist Dr. Michael Zhang to uncover the hidden psychology of gambling addiction. They explore why it is so difficult to recognize and why individuals get caught in a dangerous loop of chasing losses.  Find mental health and addiction treatment near you: https://recovery.com/ Dr. Michael Zhang, a leading psychologist and founder of the innovative digital recovery support platform Income, breaks down the progression of problem gambling from innocent recreational play to a severe diagnosable disorder. Unlike substance abuse, a sports betting or online slots addiction often forces individuals to live double lives, hiding the financial and emotional damage directly inside their bank accounts. Dr. Zhang explains the neurological mechanism behind the "near-miss" effect and how anticipation triggers dopamine pathways long before an outcome is even revealed.  This deep-dive conversation shatters common myths about willpower, explains official diagnostic criteria, and highlights the terrifyingly high suicide rates associated with this hidden epidemic. If you want to understand how online sports betting apps and prediction markets are engineered to keep you hooked, this video will open your eyes. More importantly, you will learn the crucial difference between temporarily stopping the behavior and completely removing the psychological desire to gamble.  If you are ready to shift from gambling mode to recovery mode and successfully rebuild your life, watch this full episode for actionable, evidence-based insights.
