Can I Trust the Bible? | No Apologies Week 1 | Save the Cowboy

Somebody at the sale barn tells you the Bible has been rewritten so many times you can't trust a word of it. Pete said always be ready to explain it, so here is what you say back. Kevin Weatherby opens No Apologies, a five week series on how to defend your faith, built on 1 Peter 3:15-16. Week one takes the three things people throw at the Book itself. In 1947 they found the Dead Sea Scrolls in a cave near Qumran, and the copy of Isaiah in there was a thousand years older than the oldest one we had, and it said the same thing. The top skeptic scholar in the country admits in writing that most of the differences between the copies do not change a thing that matters. A document called the Muratorian Fragment already listed 22 of the 27 New Testament books as scripture in AD 180, a hundred and forty five years before anybody rode to Nicaea. And four witnesses who tell it a little different from each other are not lying, because nobody lies to make himself look bad. In this message: "The Bible has been rewritten and changed over time" "The Council of Nicaea decided what was in the Bible" "The Bible is full of contradictions" Scripture: 1 Peter 3:15-16, 1 Timothy 5:18, 2 Peter 3:15-16 Grab this week's free 5-day Bible study at savethecowboy.org.
