Welcome to Vioseveria and the 12 Sided Guys’ second full campaign. Rain falls like torrents in the darkness. Our new band of (surprisingly short) heroes find themselves in Oak Road, a village battered by a seemingly interminable rainstorm. Their goal is the crypt on the hill, but when an unexpected event postpones their plans, the party must decide if it is an opportunity they can’t pass up or a risk they’re unwilling to take.

Awoken from a shared nightmare of a storm and a crypt and a child, four strangers find themselves drawn together with shared purpose. These strangers—a doctor, a flautist, a barkeep, and a paramour—find themselves outside the safety of civilization in search of a delayed caravan.

Our heroes must make hard decisions about their next steps in the immediate aftermath of the night time assault. Success could mean offers of attractive employment should our heroes survive the night. Also, Cilvy learns a useful acronym, Mawgrim tends to a booboo, Ornan remains cheerful despite tragedy, and Guy gets upstaged by a loaf of bread.

The promise of coin and the chance to see Grimly Castle for themselves are enough to convince our heroes to accompany the tax collector Tobias to the home of Sir Roland. As our heroes learn more about each other they have even more questions about what is brewing below the surface of Barograd and the purpose of the Lamplighters’ mission there.

And what exactly is Sir Roland so close to achieving that he would defy the envoy of Baron Thorne?

In an ancient hidden room beneath Grimly Castle, our heroes piece together what they can of the ritual they interrupted and the woman at its center. How will they keep the townsfolk from revolting when they learn that they are without their knight? And what can be done to keep the lamplighters from becoming too interested in the day’s events?
